Many years ago I had a sidewinder force feedback. I remember being so excited to try it on mechwarrior .. i dont remember which one now. Fired it up and .. ugh. Horrible. Each step of the mech swayed the joystick side to side, back and forth .. it had powerful motors and it was next to impossible to maintain it in the center .. it was absolutely impossible to aim in any way shape or form.
Anyway .. I returned that joystick and never tried force feedback again. Outside of rumble/vibration packs on controllers.
So the point is this. The logitech G940 looks great but I have this fear of force feedback. I currently have a Saitek X52 HOTAS. Its not bad I guess. The joystick is nice the throttle is pretty average. I would like something better. Has anyone had any positive experience with force feedback .. in a mech game.
What would be perfect for me would be a setup that had vibration motors in both the throttle and the joystick to provide console style feedback when firing and getting hit. Possibly a low rumble to emulate movement. Rather than the over the top full on force feedback I experienced with sidewinder. I guess that doest exist but it sort of surprises me that it doesnt. Would be cheap and i think very enjoyable.
