Personally I think some unique death animations should be added to the game to spice things up a bit more. Originally I just wanted the same old eject animation, but I was thinking that if they're going to add animations for death, why not go a step further than other MMO's? While PGI is busy with the current development of the game I know they appreciate any kind of feedback they can get from the players, not just about how LRMS are broken and need to be nerf'd or how Autocannons should be lighter.

while the thought of my battlemech toppling over after sustaining a massive amount of damage is epic, I was thinking that a few more animations could be added later on down the road when the game has reached a more complete stage after collisions are back in place with Cent's happily curbstomping all of the light mechs. One idea I had was if a mech was killed via headshot it would show a brief effect based on what it was killed with, like a dull flash of light for an AC/Gauss, an explosion for a missile that just so happens to get the lucky shot, and a moderately bright flash of light for the laser kills. As a modified version of my idea back in the old forums, if an engine is hit and destroyed by any weapon there should be a chance of the pilot ejecting, however, I would like for it to bite anyone that is too close to the mech as well. So we should bring back the "Going Critical" animations where the reactor explodes with immense force, killing both the pilot and dealing moderate-heavy damage to all within 90m.

Well, those are my thoughts anyway, sometimes teh current death animations are funny and should still be implemented, there are just some special death views that I thought would be interesting to see in the event that someone got a special kill somehow (only a chance of all mentioned animations happening on the victim's side, except for when the mech goes critical and owns everything by it.

Yeah, do it like the deaths in Resident Evil. Black backround and lots of gore!

I actually have died and been spectating and seen some fantastic death animations, I saw a splatcat get nerfed by a ppc then a volley from a lrm10, when the core was destroyed little bits went everywhere, some bigger ones did too, all that was left sitting there was the biurned out torso and legs laying next to it. The explosion was amazing, it *almost* looked real enough to be so...

The one time I was glad to be dead in game... LoLz

Don't get me wrong, they did a fantastic job with the animations that we currently have. I'm just thinking that for some of the more diehard fans there could be a few special animations. Personally I would like the eject feature to happen, but only for the pilot to pass out due to injuries sustained from the mech getting rocked so hard. And I've seen some spectacular animations myself, but for situations where an atlas just falls flat on it's face after getting shot in the back I was thinking that a critical engine would make things more interesting. You know what I'm saying?

oh yea...

I just know that its not so easy when my lrm 15 is decimating things and almost the entire community is crying foul.

my ravens are that much funner, I get nuked quick and would love to see my own demise in grand form, or not die at all, but I doubt they have time to listen to the not so squeaky wheel, if you know what I mean

I'd like to see a guy ejecting on certain scenarios, even give the pilot the ability to run around on foot if he wants. And if he gets stepped on or lasered, then he takes a penalty, like a financial hit.

Add some realism and duck and cover for defeated pilots.

We need an eject system!
Shouldn't this be under suggestions?

Got killed once while running 150kph, flipped end over end. It was quite impressive

A quick +1 for the "reactor critical", that just needs to be in the game. This should end the facehugger/leghumper killing right quick, although when collisions are back in slaming your heavy/assault in revers when a light is on your tail should also work quite well.
