Or is hypocrisy now tolerated in today's society?

Or is it just one of those things parents forgot to tell their children? Like table manners.
The last time I sat around a table with "family" people, it was appalling to see the lack of respectable table manners...

Integrity requires hard work. Not making a quick buck through unethical decisions.

pretty much sums up what i wanted to say. having an ethical code implies rules and rules are inherently limiting. people with fewer limitations (ethics) are generally at an advantage because they have more options to do things that benefit them.

if i am sitting next to an old woman who isn't paying attention in some public place and she has some money easily accessible in her purse right next to me, i would do nothing but a less ethical person might be up a few more dollars that allow them to invest more in themselves. to put it simply ethics are a hindrance in Darwinian terms.

we consider it noble to put others first but this is rarely a good survival strategy.
