Ok this tweeter BS has to be stopped.
3rd person for a mech would be a total FAIL due to LRM boaters being able to lock over a hill behind cover.
Global 3rd person with a 20meter radius around the mech you are viewing would be nice for SPECTATING.

i hate to admit it but, i want to look at my mech ya know, on the battlefield. i would like to be able to hit a button and have an out of mech experience where i can 360 around my mech, pantiltupdown, screenshot for the nerd in me, BUT having said that, i dont think a person should be able to: have crosshairs, get a lock, move their mech or anything, at most, fire (for the screenshots

i'd actually see more people being caught off guard and getting slaughtered while effing around this way. I see very few instances where the 3rd person view is totally going to save someone from getting jumped.
but yea, 3rd person would be cool, only for checking out yer mech really, shouldn't be able to do much while in that mode. There I said it.
