Or better yet, if people want CoD controls, maybe, just maybe they should stay with CoD instead of having a game changed around them and annoying the established mechwarrior userbase?

Well that's the thing, it's default so casuals can try out the training wheels or else they will miss it and never know about it so it's like they made it for nothing. If you already know how to play the game then more than likely you will know how to check the options menu once to uncheck it. Also I'm sure most non-casuals will go to options anyway to change graphic settings after installing that they will see it.
I don't see a problem with it honestly. You only have to do it once. Also don't overestimate the intelligence of "casuals" or "target audience". The devs these days dumb things down to brain dead levels. (I'm speaking other games)

Maybe you [REDACTED] can tell me how arm lock or a gas pedal has anything to do with Call of Duty? Take your irrational hate elsewhere.

Yes!!!!!.... entry to the steering wheel underhive!! Been wondering when it would come...............
To the OP, STOP YOUR WHINING...... waaaaaaaaaaaaah............... I have to turn it off........waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... I don't like it-get real. How can more options be something that makes you rage enough to post and make yourself look petty. Many of the posters on this forum have obviously been raised as an only child, used to crying and getting everything the way they want.
HINT: the world doesn't revolve around you.

C'mon, just picture it, driving you mech, changing gears and stuff.
Then add voice commands like "pew pew that **********".

For a second there I thought Mechwarrior controlled like a 1970s arcade machine played in slow motion. I'm glad all that cod casualness didn't effect mechwarrior. It'd be tough if mechs actually required player skill to pilot. Too much cod.

This.
Freaking out over the change to default is pretty extreme. Flip the bloody switch if you don't like it.
Besides, its not like FPS or anything of the sort, it REMAINS an actual throttle, and it still takes quite some time to go from full forward to reverse, unlike FPS.

I'm on the side of the "hardcore" fans. Artistic integrity ftw!
