need to see just how the load out system works, but a atlas loaded down with big guns for fire support would be a nice starter... if you can ever get to the fight.

Probably end up taking the Atlas. Simply because I have never cared for either the Hunchback or Catapult. If the heavy option was the Cataphract or Dragon I'd probably have taken one of those.

I want all of them, so that I may demonstrate my awesomeness in various roles, and missions.

Hunchback if those are indeed the only choices. Atlas is too big for my tastes.. do like it.. but its a very big target, its like putting on a "kick me" sign. Catapult, Not big on missile boats, sure I could refit it but I also don't like the way it looks.. never did really, Jenner... Well.. Its the runner-up, its well armed fast and has decent armor for a light.

The Atlas, both for its capabilities and its appearance, has long been my favorite mech in Battletech. As such, it's what I'll be picking.

As far as which variant it turns out to be, if they're trying to stick close to the AS7-D but with an upgrade, it'll probably be the AS7-S. If they're looking for something a little more radical, it'll probably be the AS7-K. As an aside, I've always really liked the AS7-K except for the minor fact that it doesn't have double heat sinks. I've been continually surprised that there hasn't been a canon upgrade that includes such a change.

If we're kicking it with 3025 tech, then what I'd really love would be a Banshee BNC-3S.

I have no idea man.

I can't even make up my mind so I'm doubly useless on telling anyone what they should pick.

Plus, do we know for sure those four are going to be the only choices?

Hmmm...
A lot of people coming from WoT will pick the Atlas. Why?
Because if you get more C-Bill for the repairs on the assault are gonna be more acceptable (at least that is what A LOT of people will be thinking).
It is gonna be more cheaper to get the light and heavies so the choice will become a tactical one instead of a fluff/rpg one.
Not sure if I like the option on this.
Personally I'm gonna go full for medium in the game but probably will take the Atlas for the above mentioned reason.
Do not flame me for being a 'rule-screwer' please :D but you willsee many people picking the big expensive one... .

I'm going Catapult because I've learned that I'm best in a support-role. Plus, look at that nose-cone. That's just pure sexiness. The Atlas eyepatch is pretty neat too, but I agree that the big guy is gonna be a high-profile target for a lot of folks. And I'll be honest, I don't like getting shot at. :D

jenner would have the most enjoyment potential. it's quick with jumpjets and has a decent weapon loadout, meaning with the exception of fighting other lights you will get to pick and choose your battles, not to mention the utility value you will be adding to your team

i really want that catapult though. if the weapon configurations for it aren't terrible that's what i'll be getting, I plan on the catapult being a centerfold in my garage so having a unique looking one would be quite nice. I'll want an awesome or cataphract at some point as well since i get all hot and bothered over ppc's but otherwise...

I was thinking though If i do plan to go lone wolf who bosses people around (like batman) i would benefit from driving something quick and mobile with a C3 Master unit so I can help complete strangers in every capacity I dare to claim i'm good at

heh.. now there's a thought. If batman was a pilot what would he drive?

Howdy,

It was real hard, but I had to go with the Jenner. The Jenner is fast enough to evade the Hunch and has the right fire-power to do damage.
In the right hands (not saying mine are) a Jenner D is a fine Atlas killing machine. Just got to remember to control that heat build-up.

Pre double heat sinks the Jenner was a dream, as so long as you knew when to jump.

Cat is best all around mech on that list imo. Although would be interested to know what type of Cat variant that the founders pack gets you, some are definatley better than others.

I say the Assault 'Mech. Although, I kind of wonder how many people who never played a Mechwarrior game will be stomping around in one thinking they are invincible.

It's gotta be the Catapult. By far the most interesting looking, has a good history, and I love long-range support mechs. No brainer.

I want the Atlas. Sometimes I just wanna sit down and play a really physical slug match, and it's gonna be disappointing to have to grind on a mech I don't enjoy at first.
