I love the changes, it's a lot of fun seeing your mech change. Please make missiles, and energy weapons also change this way and on all the other mechs as soon as feasible, it adds a lot of fun to the game.

Currently energy weapons change, but not enough IMO (eg on the jagger they look the same on the body in most cases)

I understand it's a WIP, just saying I love it, and want more.

I run my Raven 4X with a gauss rifle. I would love to see that represented in game.

I especially want to see gun barrels disappear, and laser lenses and missile tubes to be "plugged up"/covered over whenever the player decides to leave a hard point empty.

right now removed weapons are not displayed. thers just a hole or a patch of missing texture there.

They should put in the [x] looking plug into removed weapons. similar to the atlas chest on variants that don't use all those laser hardpoints have a [x] on the square modules.

on the cataphract the variant that doesn't have the AC20 ballistic hardpoint gets an ( \ ) circular cross dealie.

would love to see a ( \ ) instead of a giant gaping hole of plain texture, when the arm hardpoints are not used on the K2

i'm sure this will make it into the game at some point though. they always deliver with things like this (like they did with the Gauss/Boomcats.)

They do intend to do this, eventually, just one mech / variant / weapon at a time.

I think its awesome that when you put a third ac on the arm of the jagermech it shows three barrels. Amazing! I love this game so much :P

If I have PPCs on my Atlas's arms, I'd like to see that please.

Proper size to weight ratio? O_o

40% of total weight in the right or left arm

Like I've said before, 3D modular design is great, seeing as this is a next-gen Mech game, might as well go all out. I knew they would anyways, since a Dev said so.

Patience. This stuff is cool and what not, but balancing this game should be a higher priority. ECM and Missiles have been out of whack for 3 months and MG's, NARC, and LB-X, have been crap since Closed Beta. I don't like that pace at all.

They have different departments you know? Not like the front end web guys are also coding in fixes... Art guys definitely are not. However they are a part of adding new mechs.

Some other tweaks they need to do:
  • I wish flamers didn't look like lasers and vice/versa on mechs where you can switch the two from their default mounts
  • The CPLT-K2 should have the CT laser ports sealed up (it has no CT hardpoints)
  • The CPLT-C4 should have the side torso laser mounts removed.
  • The CPLT-A1 should have both the CT laser ports sealed and the side torso laser mounts removed
  • I'd like to see heavy, round PPC barrels replace the angular side torso energy mounts if switched from lasers
    • also use Flamer models on those if used (ditto on the K2 arm ports if flamers mounted on the arms)
  • I'd like to see the side torso laser pod geometry used for the K2 arms for lasers instead of the current telephoto camera lenses (like just stick another copy of those laser pods into the barrel nub if it uses lasers)
  • Mechs should not have multiple weapons taking up the same geometry (missiles may be an exception to this)
    • Example: HBK-4G should have additional/different barrels on its right torso if it's using more/different ballistic setups than a single AC20 (same for the CN9-YLW arm and others)

Hey, there's an Urbanmech with an AC/20 arm and there's always the Hollander.

In short, this would require major rework on all models. The lead model art guy recently quit maybe.

No, probably not happening.

A refit of all the older Battlemechs is in order imho. New mechs and stuff is fine, but when everyone has tested the new stuff, like some of it, hate some of it, they all return to their favorites. And everyone should see that the basic mech models still make up the bread and butter of the game.

So, tuning the "old stuff" would be something most players will most likely appreciate. ;)

Honestly, they should've done up visual models for each weapon and made hardpoints locations on the mech where the weapons physically go visually.

Design the mechs so that their physical structure doesn't have to change to accommodate for the different weapons and simply allow the weapon models to be placed at the hard point location. If you allow the weapon and mech models to overlap as needed you can get anything from a completely external mounted weapon to a completely internal mounted weapon.

If you own a Trebutchet, try removing the lasers on the right arm, The barrels actually disappear ;) PGI didn't advertise it anywhere, maybe cause it only works for one arm?

Anyway - I think this is absolutely fantastic feature, adding lots of immersion. Now, If only mechs would take visible damage...
