Well Lrm's Broke Again

After the "hot patch" or whatever it's called, the LRM's are broken again. PGI, why did you go from one extreme to the other? Isn't there a happy medium somewhere? I mean they go from one extreme to the other, the patched back to the first extreme. They're terrible once again.

IMO they're working beautifully now. Powerful, but not totally overshadowing every other weapon system.

I played two matches after patch, not with 2xlrm15 Jager,.

600 damage one match, 400 the next, 5 kills total. Seems reasonable.

Just wish srms got the same degree of nerf.

lol have u even tried lrm boat after patch? Long Range Metal brick. It takes around 3 volleys of ALRM40/50 to kill a stationary medium/light.....

They seem perfectly fine to me. I was a little upset with 2k damage matches with the patch and I am still maintaining my overall avg since this hotfix so far so no worries on my end quit crying about it.

1.5+0.6 damage, 1.3m radius. I have to work a lot harder for SRM kills now.

120-150 missiles at 0.7+0.3 splash damage won't kill a medium/light you say?

Methinks you're a poorer shot than you give yourself credit for.

My Epeen is suffering because I'm not putting up 'Da uber numberz yo' , but it feels a lot more manageable. Still getting kills, but not nearly the overwhelming amount of damage i have been the last few months.

I'm still all for , higher, yet spread out damage, but this is a nice fix.

Exactly. It should never have been that you could kill a medium mech (even a stationary one) with one volley of missiles. The problem here is that all the boaters got used to doing insane damage and now to have it nerfed to normal values seems unfair. Too bad I say. LRM's are cheap, easy, and are back to their intended role - to soften up targets and force them into cover - NOT to destroy mechs in one volley of missiles.

It took me like 15 or so salvos from an LRM/5 (with no Artemis or TAG/NARC) to kill a CDA-2A. I think that *feels* right to me.

That would be about 75 damage (not counting splash), so yeah. Seems about right.

Doesn't matter what they do there's always going to be some one bitching about something oh there OP oh the Under-powered ..That just how the world works people bitching and complaining about something...Can't make ever one happy it's impossible..

I wouldn't mind my favorite mechs primary weapon being rendered so impotent if I didn't still have to worry about ECM potentially making me useless every match.

LRMs are designed for suppression and softening of targets. Before this hotfix they were the primary damage dealer on the battlefield. Now they suppress and soften. Now they feel right

Only done a handfull games in my LRM Stalker but I'd say damage feels about right. If you find a target in the open he will hurt, but you wont just instagib everything.

Before patch:

Dropping frequently with 2xLRM15 Centurion. 600 points of average damage. At least one kill per drop.

After patch:

Dropped with 2xLRM15 Centurion. 289 points of damage out from 4 tons of ammo in mostly open ground. No kills.

Conclusion: LRM nerfed.

Next drop: 2x ERPPC Cat K-2. 400 points damage. 6 Kills.

Problem solved.

End of transmission.

yep, they are now a useless weak weapon, not worth going into battle. We are back to Pew Pew Pew.. energy weapons and garbage cheese builds running around like before.
