I don't have the source material in front of me, but I seem to recall that one of the pilots detailed in the Snord's Irregulars sourcebook piloted a recovered mech that was the legs of one chassis and the torso of another (Archer & a Warhammer?) And... when given the chance to change to change to a new mech turned it down - because this junkyard was his/her mech.
Now, what if this option to pilot Junkyard (Battlefield recovered) Mechs made from different pieces of differing mechs were available to MWO players. Would you take it? Would you enjoy piloting a mech -- something pugly -- if it was unique to you? Would you pay MC for it?

think something like this should be an unlockable, like to unlock a part for a junkmech you would have to destroy a certian ammout of componets of the mech the part comes from, like for a catapult leg , you need to destroy 300 catapult legs and so on.

that is a good idea. that would add a metagame to MWO which rewards continued play / destroying sections of opposing mechs.
