Honestly I wasn't even thinking about pug games when I started typing that post, then realized at the end you probably meant getting TAG and NARC to support lrmboats. In the 8-man queue you don't see lrms very often at all, so our "scouts" never actually use TAG or NARC. Kind of a shame really, a whole facet of the game being competitively nonviable.
So then yes, I agree. ECM mechs for the true scout roles. Non-ECM lights for basic scouting/harassing larger mechs/some map control.
