I'd like to point out to anyone with this nice, shiny new Jager-DD that a 6 AC/2 build is rather great for Close Fire Support. A little bit of messing to get it right, but absolutely hilarious to use.

Not enough....and its hot as hell. A 6 AC2 build makes no sense, thats fact. Slow, weak armor, not enough ammo.

No it's not great. It sucks major balls. Under-armored, burn like a hoe, too few ammo or slow like a granny-arse. Pick two.

I just threw two AC20s in there.

I use a 5x AC2 build, I can shoot a 80 shot burst before I got heat problems and got 600 shots and its quite nice

Im trying to find a *good* 6 x AC2 build, not sure its possible though.

Jagermech DD

Requirements for me at least are 6 AC2s, enough ammo, decent armor.

This build is 91% max armor, 300 ammo, no back up weapons and travels at a mind boggling 32kph.

Dropping to 5 or 4 AC2s is probably far more viable, but nowhere near as awesome.

So the challenge is there - is it possible to make a viable 6 AC2 jagermech?

300 ammo on 6 AC2....thats 12 ammo per Second. Did the math? I made a 5 AC2 build with more than 600 rounds, its also empty fast ^^

There is nothing practical you can do with all 6 slots. I made a goofy 2xERPPCs and 6xMGs just for laughs. Not very good due to the low energy mounts in the torso, but I did strip a stalker of all his goodies in the blink of an eye, so had a ball there.

Right now I'm running 2xAC10s with 4xMGs. Trudging along with a very explodey XL255. Seems like a lot of work for a not great mech.

Anyone have any decent builds for this beast? I'm thinking UAC5s are probably going to be the thing.

My take would be 3xUAC5, 2xUAC5 + 4xSRM4/6, or AC40 + maybe some lasers. (4 small lasers on the A?)

I'm super curious about the consensus re: LT/RT hitboxen and XL engines, but it looks like the jury's still out on that one, particularly since there may be something going on with the Jagermech's headbox and splash damage.

Yeah I didnt think that was enough ammo, theres just no space to put any more on. I guess if you want a quad AC2 mech, you could go Cataphract 4X, but that seems to be reviled also.

It seems like it has a lot of potential, but will probably take a genius build to really make use of it!

And yeah, 6 x MG seems fun for one or two games before you realise it does nothing worthwhile...

Jagermech is faster and carries the ballistics above the shoulder instead of below the waist. Much more ideal for ranged combat.

There's no reason not to load a pair of AC20 on DD.

actually it's a good idea to put weapons there, because hitting below the waist is frowned upon

6 AC2 seems to have bad heat.

Just give it 4MGs then either 2 big ACs or Energy.

Pretty much my initial build except the DHS, which I refuse to buy until I find a chassis I like. I got whooped good and don't really get much chance to do enough damage just trying to survive.

This would be one funny mech: JM6-DD

You will scare the crap out of alot of mediums, with speed and the constant sound of MG fire behind them

Why not run only 5 x AC/2, and get a bigger engine/more heat dissipation? (Yes, I get it, you want to fill all 6 Ballistic slots)

On a related note, what's the max number of AC/2's you can chain fire without losing DPS? 3? 4? Anybody know?

MOAR DAKKA. Seriously though, you could put 2 PPCs if you go easy on the MG ammo.
