This topic is in celebration of all the, dare I say it, [Redacted] about the latest missile hotfix.

Cannot say I am surprised - such a thing is a common sight in video games, quineg?
A bunch of people who find the most overpowered combination - power gamers whose aim is to abuse the system for a one-button kill. And when it get's fixed, you could think the world is about to end.

"omg my 'mech can't one button kill an enemy heavy 'mech, it is worthless now!"

And did you notice another thing? Good players do not complain. They adapt - I guess that is the difference between a ristar, and common stravag. Good players overcome, bad players come over to the forums and cry.

Same thing happened in D3 when the DH got fixed - a tsunami wave of people crying "omg, how am i supposed to play my not-broken DH now, without my 25 second invincibility?".

Just glancing at the forums, all I see is topics from "experts" stating that LRMs are totally worthless now (based on the fact that a 100 LRM salvo cannot kill an enemy heavy in one shot).

Apparently - they all know better than people who actually made thi game - judging by the osts, one can think there are a hundred people out there, who can rebalance the whole game in their head and get it right in one try.

Take a chill-pill guys. Try and play with the new toys, maybe actually work for your kills now, quiaff?

Shouldn't that be "quiaff"?

Google "three second jenner". Or look back to the introduction of Artemis. Its not that hard to know better than the people who actually made this game...

Its nice to know you've managed to read the hearts and minds of countless mechwarriors through the internet. Perhaps you could next turn your superpowers towards bringing about world peace?

I'm not even one of the people complaining about the nerf (in part because the patch broke my install of MWO and even reinstalling wouldn't fix it- but the hotfix did... so I never even experienced the joy of massacring raven 3Ls with LRMs for hours upon end), but your smarmy, condescending attitude (in combination with your bad spelling and gratuitous clanspeak) fill me with the urge to poop on top of my monitor and smear it all over the screen just to improve the view- your post is just that bad.

I use lrms and the "nerf" doesn't seem that bad and I believe it brings back diversity to the game. Games should not be determined by whom can toss the most missiles, but they should still have a purpose in the game. I believe they do. My cent still runs 1 lrm15 with art 4. My stalker still carries 2 lrm racks and is quite effective. It would be nice to see multi range multi purpose mechs used more. And no a cata with 4 lrms 15s and a med laser is not multi range multi purpose. 8p

the majority of people DONT want to be able to kill someone with one button. But we dont want a weapons system (that ALOT of mechs are designed to carry a ton of) to feel like spit balls either.

I can live with the current damage BUT they need to buff missles in other areas,

Increase flight speed dramaticaly
weaken ECM alot (since it was only made so strong since people couldnt use cover)

start with that and see what elese is needed, the minimum that needs done is a flight speed increase.

i mean every game i played last night, while i usualy see one or two people who seem to think missles were gummy bears from the sky and waited patiently to catch them, I was seeing people not even give a crap and didnt even bother to use cover one players exact words were

"why bother missles dont hurt anymore" and this guy was in a treb..... (oh and he survived the match lol)

They clearly said that this isnt final. But it was necessary to get rid of the insame damage they've done for far too many days, yet the "pros" still create streams of tears. The OP laid it out very well: Adapt. Like we all had to do since tuesday patch to not die in the heavy rain.

But even if LRM would stay in this or similar damage range, it would be ok if people stop boating (and thus relying on) LRM and understand it as a support weapon instead of a death from above machine.

Oh look at this muffin. If I had to chose between his valid points and your use of fecal language nonsense, you'd lose.

From someone that has no dog in this fight, I have to say the tears now pail in comparison to the tears crying for the nerf. It seems to be the "brawlers" that don't know how to adapt. I stopped using LRMs the first time they got nerfed into oblivion. I had started to use them a little again before the last patch with over buffed them causing the huge nerf hammer to come down. I will probably just stick to what I have been running and leave lrm's to others until there is some compelling reason to use them again.

The removal of collision is not final either. LRM's will return in a years time or so.

Why there are splatcats and PPC Stalkers then?
Or poptart 3Ds?

splat cats have never been a ONE SHOT Kill (except on lights which umm lights? they are the ones best capable of staying 270 meters away from them)
true damage was high but it wasnt always a guaranteed kill, you miss, you overheat, they see you coming and clip your ears off.

and poptart 3d (which im not sure what exactly that one is but the poptart term is used for jump jetting out of hiding shooting then droping back down) is not a 1 hit kill either its an ambush spec (which the splat cat is as well) its a build ment to damage at range while exposing yourself to minimum risk which is common sense and a tactic employeed by just about every military in history. Hit your enemy in a way so they cant hit you is almost always the first option explored.

and a 6 PPC stalker is kind of a joke to me

true any of them can kill you easily but if you know about them (situational awarness) their effectivness drops dramaticly.
