I agree with your sentiments. I finally convinced a friend at work who has played other mech games to give MWO a try and he lasted all of 2 days. I don't however buy into the original statement that premade players outnumber pug players at this point. I really find that hard to believe.
I'm willing to believe that it's actually flat out wrong and they've either misreported, made an error, or are using hopelessly incomplete data. I bet you it's something like "At 10pm EST, there are more players online who were, at one point in their entire MWO career, in a lance of at least two people than they were players who had never grouped." Based on some of the other communications from them, and the combined history of every game ever, this seems like a very safe bet.
If it is actually true, it is a sign that the community is not growing, as I'd thought, and PGI should be at alert condition red to get PUGs into the game.

Are you really this naïve?
Probably.

Simply brilliant. FFS. In less that a week, players would read the in-game player list and all you would see is:
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
DISCONNECT
Knowing who on the other side is playing together serve little to no purpose, other than likely grieving of those players who do play together. Well I suppose one could always stroke their E-Peen after a Win. But what about after a loss? then what...
Wah! Wah! Wah! We can't allow those 4 players to play together cause they kilt me!" Wah! Wah! Wah!
No thanks.
Like it happens in WoT?
Wait?
You mean it doesn't?
Ok.
Guess your comment added no value and you are just terrified you will no longer be able to unfairly roll PUGs in your four mans. Don't worry bud. That's not going away until they get some proper match making going. You will still be able to stomp all over players who are just trying to have a fair game, because your fantasy scenario is not going to happen.
The utter incapability for people on this board to imagine what it is like for other players and why that might not be a good thing is mind boggling.
