The 'Mechwarrior series has always striked my interest (to say the least) since the first time I watched my friend play MW2 (back in the early 90's).

The concept itself is simply badass. Cool story right? To the point!

~~ Maybe I need to read up, but can anyone tell me if there are plans to hold solaris type FFA or 2v2 x6 style matches in the retail version or future updates?

As a side note, it will be interesting to see just how balanced the game & 'Mech vs 'Mech mechanics work.

** Could be great for Online Entertainment **

I'd pay a subscription fee to watch the best players/'Mechs in-game hammer one out every month! :P

Edited for clarity

There is hope. So say a prayer to your respective God/s and or Demon/s.

Hopefully, there will be a Solaris in the game at some time in the future. I spent many hours in the arena.

I loved the Solaris arena it's really what gave me my skills in mechwarrior as well as gave me great love for light mechs.

Darn... all the Solaris threads I've found this morning have dies before hitting a second page. What does this say?

I'm putting replies on several old Solaris threads in the hopes that ONE of them will result in continuing discourse.

It appears to me that the only thing we need now, in order to make a community-run Solaris metagame, is the option to group-drop into the Training grounds. How hard would this be to code? Would PGI be interested in giving us a way to start building metagame without draining their limited resources?? Could we get the Duncan Fisher guy to drop with the contestants in an unarmed Commando and record the play-by-play?

Could be awesome... what do you think?

They're dying quickly as the devs have stated already it's in the works.

'in the works' means what, these days? If the dev's already have a plan and will be laying it on us soon - great! Sign me up!

If it's one of those 'we have a comment from PGI in that PC Gamer article from December 2012 that mentions some kind of Solaris arena mode is planned' situations.... come on, folks. Let's get involved and make it happen, rather than waiting for a version of the arena system that won't include every feature we want.

What would you like to see in the Solaris metagame?
