The pants are probably a political correctness decision, sadly enough. It's not a big enough deal to do multiple models of, but I GUARANTEE that if you could see your pilot's legs, someone would inevitably go "WELL WHY ISN'T MY MECHWARRIOR [insert color or gender here]? ARE YOU SAYING THEY CAN'T BE MECHWARRIORS?"
