Only Success At Centurion Srm Brawler - Suggest Alts

I usually score about 450 damage, No fewer than 6 assists, and usually 1-3 kills.
This the only mech I can play. I do get hosed on the larger maps at times.
Knowing that my success is here, and not with a phract 2x, jag-s, what would you suggest for setting those up, or for buying other mechs.

AL = Atlas?
I was going to do the D-DC brawler build. I got enamoured with the jag, and spent a lot of my saved 10M.
I was also worried about the missle nerf, since it relies on SRM, but the centurion is still playing well.

He means the CN9-AL variant of the Centurion, I think.
I played primarily an SRM medium for a while (HBK-4SP) and you'd probably like that; I've also had a lot of success with the AWS-9M and 8T chassis running large lasers/large pulse lasers and SRMs.

The most similar medium mech is the trebuchet 7M
TBT-7M
And here is a good 2x brawler build just in case
CTF-2X

If you were allready saving for a DDC id recommend doing it again and buying one this time though. Its a great mech.

You get to enjoy the power of your SRM cluster AND the addition of the Large Lasers allows you to be more useful on larger maps.
Note that the ER Large Lasers have the weight as standard Large Lasers and if you don't mind the added heat issues you could use those instead,

It's fast. I run a circle around a building, or in and out of cover and load on the damage.
It's a run and gun technique, probably more like a light.
I tried an srm, ppc, ml build in my Fract 2x. I get killed a lot in the 2x. Probably because I'm not fast enough to get in and out, and I end up toe to toe with better players and heavier mechs.
I've only tried trial mech lights. I have no luck in those. Tempted for a Raven though.

I'm using Grimm's brawling build on my 2X and it does pretty well.

I would say that with the Phract you have to be more selective about your engagements as you're lacking the centurions speed to get out of them. You're not going to take down an Atlas 1-on-1 (Then again, not much can) but working in tandem with another heavy/assault and you're going to destroy a great many things.
