When Will We See Mech Screens Like The First Trailer?

Just a question about your guesses on when will we get the "orange-stylish" screen of the first trailer.

I know it's a different engine, but that doesn't matter on how to make it, i mean, in the trailer it's super cool how it looks. It really gives a futuristic ambient with that orange glow.

For the ones that don't know what i'm talking about



Just look when in the CG (it's not all CG), the guy looks down to throw the drone, and you can see the screens i refer to.

BTW, PPCs in that engine look awesome

This trailer was made with the Unreal 3 Engine, but the game failed and now we have MWO. Maybe we'll get something like that if DX11 is ready and all the cool stuff :)

That was MW 5 a single player but turned into MWO

That would be tinted film grain and seems to be something people around here does not like.


Apart from that i have no clue what orangey stuff you are talking about.

Honestly, this game looks much better then that did.

Destructible buildings would have caused so many issues. and honestly, look at that paper atlas.

It looks cool but doesnt seem too functional.

That said the current ones arent functional either. :)

Well changing the color of those screens in cockpit is a perfect candidate for the devs to earn some cash.

Want to have orange displays? only 500 MC for that chassis.

I'm almost positive the CryENGINE was a wrong choice. From missing netcode to high sys requirements just to get (somewhat) better graphics than Unreal Engine can pull off. And we still don't even have DX11 which wouldn't be the case if we had U3.

Also, the scalability of U3 would have brought tons of players to the game, which seems to be the main problem MWO devs have at the moment.

That UAV thing would be cool in MWO but am I right in thinking it would not be possible with the current engine (for the same reason as we can't have rear-view cameras)?

Read the Ask the Devs 34 - Answers! thread, they're as unhappy as we are with the non-functioning cockpit screens, but they don't have any clear date on when they'll get around to it. They have bigger fish to fry what with the missile spread/splash issue, other issues, and the upcoming Clan invasion.

Well, at least we have some Mechwarrior game after all that time.

Besides, it would also be on consoles, which would lead to the problem of simplified controls... and we would never see FD's redesigns, etc.

MW:O may not be perfect, but I think it's clear for me that a quasi-CGI trailer wouldn't be a better game than it.

But yes that trailer was not three dues playing, it was staged very carefully and then run through a ton of renders on a special built system to ensure that it ran smooth. It was not gameplay in any way... and that Atlas look like crap compared to the one we have in MWO in my mind.

Not CGI per-se, but rather a completely scripted video. Like falling buildings in Call of Duty. :P

I agree, our Atlas look better EXCEPT when you come up from behind. Then the massive torso makes the legs seem small and derpy.

Edit: That Warhammer looks darn sexy though.

Edit 2: Our Jenners look better too. Also, if that voice was our Bitchin' Betty, I'm pretty sure most people would turn it off :P

That was never a game, it was a video designed to get investors so they can make a game like in the video... :P
