So I unfortunately can only play MWO on my relative's HP laptop which has a Intel 4000 integrated graphics chip. The game runs with a poor frame rate at lowest settings, and the game looks pretty ugly for it. I still have fun though

Meanwhile, the laptop can play a game like League of Legends at 1080p with nearly max settings and with a high frame rate, and that game looks gorgeous.

What is it about MWO that makes it so more demanding than League of Legends? Is it a polygon count issue? Does MWO have way more polygons to process or something? Texture quality? Weapon effects?

LoL is nowhere near the quality of MWO. Buy a new compy, The Crysis engine needs a real video card if you want to run it. http://www.geforce.c...em-requirements

I think LoL has it's own homebrew engine and isn't doing nearly as much as MW:O is needing to do from a graphics department.

MW:O uses CryEngine 3, which is known for it's heavy graphic requirements.

yeah i know the Intel 4000 is something of a joke, i just wonder where all the power requirements from MWO are coming from. It's gotta be the polygon count yea?

the various iterations of the crytek engine have almost always been at the tipy top of graphical gorgeousness, right along with id tech and the unreal engine.

and we have long reached a point where every little bit in visual improvement requires significantly more processing power. its much much more then simply a polygon count.

cryengine 3

that explains what the cryengine does.

anyway, i have a dualcore i5 and a 2gig gtx560 and i run this game full HD with maxed graphics at30 fps pretty easily. pretty much any GTX series card should be able to run this game with not too much trouble.

Edit: also, im pretty sure MWO runs a less demanding version of the engine due to its F2P nature.

the rest of your laptop is probably pretty slow, i run this game with a mix of high and very high, runs fine, and i have intel hd 4000 also

of course, i have oc the memory, which is very worth it when running integrated gpus, and the cpu is good 2, so my gpu is probably faster then yours, even tho its the same thing

overall, this game imo isn't much of a graphical work of art, explosions and stuff are cool, but still not amazingly good graphics, that might change when they introduce dx11

was gonna get crysis 3, but this game made me change my mind, since crysis is all about the graphics, and its the same engine

My personal specs are an AMD Phenom II x4 Quad Core processor at 3.6 ghz. 16 gigabytes of ram. Twin AMD HD 6870 video cards on crossfire. Even then I sometimes experience frame drops on maxed settings with the older maps. New maps give me perfect, continuous 60 fps frame rates no matter what I do or how many things I shoot.

they look pretty good as small pics, hides the rough edges, and those aren't real screen shots, are they :(

the older maps probably need some optimization

i don't know the model, but the CPU was like an i5 3200M or something like that. The GPU is an Intel 4000 after all too.

I improved the performance a bit by going into the graphics options and clicking the "Max performance" button. It was at some kind of default power saving mode before ;)

It has Windows 8. It's an HP Envy m6 I think

They're real. However it is with a few custom settings in the user.cfg file to enrich the colors a bit. No motion blur.

Still need to use low settings for a decent frame rate
