Been reading through all the discussion about the issues in the my thread title, and keep seeing a lot of people mention broken promises. So that I can constructively participate in these discussions, can someone post links to posts/podcasts where the devs promise not to implement these things? Or clearly say "it won't be done?"

I know there are posts where they mention they "aren't considering them at this time" or where they point out/acknowledge the challenges and reasons why they don't want to implement said features, but I'm not looking for those. I'm looking for where they promised it wouldn't be done.

Dude just spend 30 bucks on MC one time and you can have like 100k GXP which means every single last pilot tree, with a month of premium time and a ton left for dumb crap I bought an entire spider worth of basic tree with it and still have 1k and 42k GXP.

People took the posts where they said things like "Coolant flush negates the entire idea of having to manage heat" and "3rd person view caused problems in past games where it gave unfair advantages" as promises that they would not be in MWO. I don't think there is any pics of Devs swearing on bibles, if that is what you are looking for.

Yeah, those are the two.

The 3rd person they kinda botched, and it seems they decided that it will be more beneficial to the game than detremental.

Coolant flush, however, they are staying true to. We got coolant SHOT, not flush. We get to use it once per match, not as many times as we like till we run out of coolant, which is what they were taking about in that sentence.

No. I've been around since August (not that long, I know) and don't think I remember seeing promises about these things, but there have been a lot of people stating that the devs are going back on promises. I'm assuming that if they were made, it was before I joined. I just wanted to see them so I can better participate in discussions.

I have seen those posts and am trying to figure out if those are the "promises" folks are referring to (which seems to be the case to me), or there's something I missed.

LOL coolant flush actually kinda sucks. It can give you most of a clear heat tree, (with 8x8 and the basic one used together and that's all you get) but this is almost never going to save you.

The Coolant shot that we have is not the same as the 'coolant flush' that was originally talked about. Coolant Flush from MW4 was much more potent.

Thats because they don't exist. People took the above statements to be 'implied promises' or something. People love to freak out and scream how they were 'betrayed' and how 'disgusted by PGI's actions'. It makes for good thread topics.

Here is one that particularly bothered me.

To be fair in one of the NGNG podcast Bryan said they were on track to do this eventually. Not sure if I believe, but it is what he said.

Yeah, that would be a TON of work to balance. You would have to make a base that wasn't insta-lethal to a light, yet not a joke to an assault.

I wouldn't mind if I never had to face an AI turret ever in MWO.

It is still their position. FOCUSED on 1st person combat in mechs does not exclude a 3rd a person option.
