I love the battletech franchise
and most times I love MWO

but honestly...
the only times I really get excited about MWO is every two fridays (answered AtDs) or every first of the month to get the monthly Devloper Update - because besides the grind and the mechs there is hardly a feature in MWO (yet, the fights are most times fun...but you get my point)

therefore every bit of information what might be on the horizon is helpful - and not answers like "can't talk about it yet" etc.

personally i feel a lack of information
where are the previews? (and I mean previews for stuff that you don't have to pay for - not heroes! I like the hero mechs but they are NOT a feature!)

every mid of the month at the latest it is getting boring!
because everything announced in the monthly developer update was already patched into the game
ISN news flashes only include lore and almost no "hints"
every once and a while you spot articles on the major gaming websites - but they rarely contain informations you don't already get on the forum

so - whoever in IGP's marketing department is responsible for this "withhold any information until the last moment"-nonsense should honestly overthink his or her career choice

if you lack content - and MWO does, even though I'd call myself a fanboy I realise that! - then you oughta throw your playerbase a bone...or two bones...or a hell lotta bones!
and i mean tasty bones - like preview videos or pictures, medium- and long-term developer updates and concept arts!... not dry bones like an upcoming hero mech or a bi-weekly AtD where everything is either "on the board but far away" or can't be talked about

treat your game like it was in BETA!
we need a constant stream of upcoming content!
talk about what's coming up next
give us pictures, give us videos, give us roadmaps (again)

you want our money? - we want your game!
the more we get - the more you get! (that's as easy i could phrase it for your marketing guys and girls)
and if content is not yet ready to be released, give us at least previews - don't underestimate previews! they are far better than being left in the dark

Hmm, I get what you're saying. I'm closing in on 5k games (!) and while I love the game, playing with people and trying to command in different situations definitely helps... I really would like to know about CW and what the end game is.

I was just telling someone, after buying out the jagers, getting them armed up, I am back at having >200mil cbills. I realize I am *NOT* the average player, but I'm not alone in these numbers. What's in the game for us (other than leading units which a few of us are doing)...

Lack of content? So 2 patches a month are not enough?

Lack of information, try other sources like No Guts No Galaxy pod cast, they have the odd dev on there who gives hints at what to expect.

Give PGI a break, they have done a great job in a small time frame, but if your bored already just leave for a few months then come back.

This (Ops post) exactly!

Just under a week to go until patch day, and there's hardly a surprise worth mentioning there.

More bones! Bones for everyone!

2 patches a month? Hell, planetside seems to be patching every damn time I log in.

Small time frame? Yeah...fair enough.

just to make that clear:
the amount of patches is not important (edit: for this thread) - and yes, PGI is doing quite a good job, better than other companies handle their patching policy

YET
information is lacking
we don't know much about what's around the corner...maybe a hero mech, maybe a new pattern once in a while...
but those are the mentioned "dry bones"...they are a bone, no doubt, but yet a dry bone and nothing you chew on for very long

this thread is about at least getting (edit: concrete) INFORMATION on what is coming up in the mid-term and long-term future (monthtly update is considered short-term)
I'm not interested in them pushing content too early into the game (like a bug infested CW...that would be no fun for anyone)
but I think many would appreciate informations and pics/videos of things to come

For me, personaly, it seems that there is no good Communication. And if i take in, that the Devs, now talking to their "Main-Playerbase" via Twitter. :) Well, i think you get the Point.

Well, the real meat of the game isn't in yet (Community warfare), so I could see why people are getting a bit burnt out. Hell, I get burnt out on the game now and then... I take a break then come back.

Try to limit your play...

I play since CB approx 8 hours per day(ofc there are days I have time to play 2 hours and other when I have 14 hours) and I still do not feel burned out.
If you want info about future content you have pinned topic there in Generál Discussion.

what bores me is the ****** bugs I keep running into.
how about stopping progress in the game and fix the existing bugs. you know, industry term, bug bash?
then get back to new features?
yeah, even the ui guys have bugs to fix. :)

sure it is. PGIS big mistake was not including custom matches right away, the community could keep themselves busy with that until PGI gets CW rolling.

Still, overall the game is still tons of fun, just needs content content content!

No, but I am one of the kind of person that just likes to PvP. I ran some twinks in WoW, simply due to the fact you can get them to where you want them, then just log in and pvp with them without having to constantly grind out new gear.

LOL then you are playing a differnet game to all the others out there, the news economy sucks BIG HAIRY BALLS as 90% of the player base will tell you. Their Russian biaias is at the very least equal to that of WoT ( Russian UFOs anyone?) and the matchmaker does not deserve the term matchmaker (care for a jet taking out your Stuka?).

Do not get me wrong it is a nice enough game way better then WoT or their offspring WoA but it is still by no means even close to this beta.

There is nothing to fight for in the game. No storyline no star chart to see conquests etc.

It's just another PvP game with Mechs.

now i know the majority of problems a game developer has is with the company that owns them bombarding them with ignorant demands. And they are rarely given the time, resources and employees to get the job done.

but there are some things i dont understand why they take so long.... maps being the biggest thing ive known people who churn out quality custom maps for games in a matter of days, mechs the second thing since the only thing they have to do is model them and "balance" them which at this point balancing shouldnt be a problem either (in regards to balanced vs the other mechs in its weight)

i dunno, im not at the impatient bored point yet so not worried just kind of a Huh? thing to me

The game isn't boring at all... I have lots of fun there.

All the QQ threads got boring a long time ago.
