Hi,
I decided to reinstall the game after encountering serious FPS issues after the last patch. When I "deinstalled" the game via the system control center, the process was completed immediately. But no files got deleted and I was still able to launch the game. A friend gave me the advice to delete the folders manually which I did. Then I tried reinstalling...
The installation process is completed immediately and, just like the deinstallation process, nothing changes. Not a single file is written on my disk. I tried the Microsoft Fix-it solution, but whether the programm is "installed" or not it isn't showing up in the dialogue. When I choose the "not listed" option Fix-it asks me for a 32 digit programm code which i don't have. I have rebooted numerous times and cleaned my registry with the wise registry cleaner. The problem persists no matter what I do.

Have you tried choosing a different install location?

here is a quote from way back in closed beta for install problems

Quote

Reinstall the Game
If you need to re-install the game, please do it the following way:
1) Go to Control Panel -> Uninstall MechWarrior Online2) Check the install directories and remove any folders leftover
** Path: C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online

3) Delete files from temp folders:
** Path: C:\Users\*Your Windows Session’s ID*\AppData\Local\Package Cache
** Path: C:\Users\*Your Windows Session’s ID*\AppData\Local\TEMP\MechWarrior Online4) Clean up registry keys, there are a variety of third-party tools which can do this.
** You can download one free here: http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER

5) Run the application with the default options6) Clear your browser cache
7) Restart your computer

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I wasn't able to try the proposed solution earlier but it isn't working either. The problem persists and I have tried everything that has been proposed (except that there was't a "package cache" folder, but I have purged all of my temp files...).
The installer still finishes within a second no matter what path i choose... Nothing gets written to my disk etc....

Hmpf, there was just no other way. I had to reinstall Windows. Half a day wasted....
Has anyone encountered similar problems or was it just me?

Sorry to hear that, Icobod! I have reinstalled MWO a few times over the course of beta, but never run into that situation.
