What are your thoughts on the Heavy tournament? What did it do well in, where did it fall short?

It's luck, dude. Just gotta get a team with a bunch of LRM carriers. Get around back, spot+TAG assist to victory.

Unfortunately, hardly anyone is carrying LRMs because they're not so useful right now.

luck cant give you 10 matches with 8kills 8 assist tags and cap lets get real this tournament was sync drop tournament like all the others
ps what cataphract uses tag??? lmao. if there was o match log we would see how did they gets 6000++++ scores

There probably isn't a way to make a solo tournament that would make everybody happy since the best way to get points is to work the system which might not always equal actual good play. However I think its possible to get those points without cheating. I'm currently at ~5400 points on the cataphracts ladder which puts me in 8th place (1st has ~6600). Thing is I'm not all that good with cataphracts, and I didn't have any elite tier unlocked when I started, and am basically just playing normal except I added tag and try to cap a bit more than I usually would in a heavy. Basically I think it comes down to the fact that I put in a decent number of games and even though I did terrible in some it doesn't matter because it just takes your best 10 matches. So I could see somebody that is a better cataphract pilot and/or is putting high priority on winning the tourney getting ~1200 more points than me.

Get around to see the builds used to get higher ranks in the tournaments.. lots of tag/narc; I've not been using them and no matter how many wonders you kept doing with kills, kill assists and damage done, without them you usually average out to 4k points as I did with both catapults and Dragons.

As soon as I started using tag my points raised, even average games well under 4kills+4 assists and 800-900 dmg done (without any tag/narc bonuses) got me more tournament points than when using tag.

Tagging/narcing is a renown role for heavies..

My problem with all the tournaments is that they're solo and the matchmaker is still ****** and broken. Game after game where the enemy is full of poptarts and the matchmaker only actually gives you 6 guys to start with is pants. Not to mention that people on the enemy team also have that game as a write-off because they don't have 8 targets to shoot at.
