I know this might seem like an obvious suggestion, but I can see it slipping through the cracks once mech collisions and "death from above" are implemented into the game:
If a mech runs off a high cliff or jumps high into the air and tries to land without using jump jets to slow down their descent, they should fall down on their @$$ when they hit the ground.
