Took me a good half dozen shots to finish him off when the raven popped up as well,he was alot eaiser to dispatch, only thing left was the poptarting stormcrow laserboat,he had moved in closeish behind me and was making his way to the ridge where he would start popping,i knew i could only withstand a couple of shots before i died, and a good shot from him would take out my wep in one hit,so i made the decision that as soon as i saw him start his jump i would dumbfire the thunderbolt at roughly where i thought he would hover to try and shoot me.I saw him take off, picked my shot and dumbfired, his head then weapons cleared the ridge just as my thunderbolt slammed into his crit ct and boom.
Was one in a million shot, all the people watching in ghost mode were astounded,i was absolutely buzzing, absolutely epic, was over 6 years ago and i still can see the thunderbolt slamming into him.

What would YOUR mechwarrior be listening to inside the cockpit during a combat drop?
Here is the scenario....
Your dropship is burning into the atmosphere and your Commanding Officer has ordered all MechWarriors to report to their mechs.
You feel a hum and vibration reverberate through your body as the fusion power-plant comes to life deep within the bowels of your giant titan war machine. With your mech initialization complete you quickly snap off your pre-drop readiness report. Command comes over your comm and informs your unit that you will be dropping onto a hot LZ and to prepare for immediate combat. Sweat beads your brow as you make sure your command couch straps are tight, your neurohelmet is snug and all your monitors relay status reports from your various on-board systems.
"Drop in 5.....4......3......2......1.... MARK"
Now, what do YOU have blaring out of your speakers?
For this guy it's "Wishmaster" by Nightwish
I found this after it came on my iTunes the other day while I was doing some studying!! TOTALLY fits the scenario. Flip to about the 1 minute mark and start from there.

I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track
I looked 'round,
And I knew there was no turning back
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do?
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you
Sound of the drums
Beatin' in my heart
The thunder of guns!
Tore me apart
You've been - thunderstruck!

I would want to hear the screams of panic of my enemies while i hotdropped on top of them.
Then, I would release the sweet sound that an autocannon makes.. ahh is there any more joyful, happy song?
trata-ta-ta.. tra-ta-ta...ta-ta...

But I dont want to hear canned music in my game. The game itself should not have any music imo. It should be utterly steeped in mech sounds and environment noises necessary to create the deepest and most immersive experience possible. Other than that, I'll play some industrial, old style electronica, Vangelis, AC\DC, Linkin Park, or movie sound tracks like Blade.

Or flying over the battlefield in a dropship, 'Mechs hanging out the side with Paint it Black blaring on the loudspeakers?

I fully agree. I would probably turn off any canned music and throw on something of my own if I felt like my mechwarrior self would dig that.
Maybe this
But probably this if I'm doing really awesomely. Or really really really badly.

Hank Williams Jr., All for the Love of Sunshine (skip to about 1:00 for the music - and blowing-stuff-up - to start)
Or, despite it technically being an anti-war song, the Dropkick Murphys cover of Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya:
