1. Mechs have different heights. You're on a slight uphill, you have a clear shot, but there's a hunchback that's been standing in front of you the whole time at just the right height to be hit by your torso AC/20.

2. Someone running across your field of fire right as you press the trigger.

3. Advanced Zoom == no idea what's happening right next to you, such as nearby teammates.

4. I'm 99% sure that heat blob with the red brackets is in front of the blue brackets heat blob...

5. Chasing an enemy mech with its back turned to you while the rest of you team tries for a back shot.

6. That shutdown mech is an enemy mech, right?

7. Zoom will sometimes hide the friendly blue triangle, when you're shooting without a lock.

8. Everyone shooting at a light mech that's dodging between everyone. Think circular firing line.

Others?

1 and 2 can be avoided by looking around you before shooting, though.

FF was always a nuisance... seemed to have gotten worse when ECM went in, but yea. Happens a lot.

10. You see some guy just standing around and you think "hmmm unloading my munitions into his face would make some cool explosions. That's what I'm playing this game to see after all!"

Yup, just had this happen to me. Got my first team kill because of it.

For bonus points, the map was stuck in one direction, i.e. always facing south instead of my direction of travel. The torso/feet orientation indicator wasn't moving either.

To be honest, FF in the middle of a brawl or circle fight I'm ok with. It happens.

What irks me is the FF at the start of the game when people test weapons. FFS, if you're going to test weapons, POINT the crosshairs away from your teammates.

FWIW, I play with a trackball and my RMB tends to be a bit sensitive. I've Accidental Discharged a few times while on the march. Which is why I got into a habit of not aiming at my teammates while on the march.

Hmmm - ECM umbrella and that mech which ran around the corner facing me MUST be an enemy. Shoot first ask questions later :P

I popped a friendly (not any more) spider out of the air with ER PPC shots this way. he zipped up out from behind a building to shoot my target on a hill.

he said" I KNOW you couldn't have done that on purpose. SO i'll take it as an accident." lol

Once I got face alpha striked by this noob jagermech when I came over the hill. His logic, since that is where enemy most likely will be coming from, anyone the crests must be enemy. I literally saw red after that :P as in my CT armor was red.

Best was there was no ECM, and all the enemy mechs where far away. Also was not the first one in that match that the dude FFed on.

11. Type some questions/suggestions in team chat as the match begins and suddenly your mech engages override, toggles night vision, jumps into the air and pops an alpha in the back of the guy in front of you.

12. "I can't target any of the mechs down there, pretty sure that one's not ours..."

Dude, given how trigger-happy that guy is, I don't think he is a friendly, so it ain't friendly fire...

Shooting a friendly Jenner that jumps over your head from behind, who decends in front of you just as you shot at the enemy mech down the street.

A variant of 2, therefore I'm going to name it...

2a. SRMs / Streaks tend to have a slower speed during their flight than you'd think...

and

13. LRM-Spam (on non-LOS-targets).

What? Someone is playing with a trackball?
That's esoteric and I've never seen anyone be effective with that device on any game. I'd be interested if you could post a gameplay video of yourself playing.

I'm sorry if I'm being insensitive and the controller choice is caused by a disability of some sort, though the gameplay video request still stands, because I think it would be even more interesting.
