Glad you enjoyed it Icepick and Xterix! Most people are already pretty decent pilots but it always pays to pick up that little extra scrap or two of information you may have missed!

It's good to see most common tactics in one video, thanx!
But it's tactics, Mr. Grimm, are you planning something like "Light Mechs Strategy": recon or stay-with-group, cap base or get-ready-to-prevent-cap etc?

Yes, there is a part 2 to this video coming however right now I have a ton of other projects on the go (some involving video and some involving revamping a website from the ground up). It will have to wait for a week or two.

Very good advice, but I feel it's incomplete. The same ideas still apply for Ravens, Spiders, and Commandos, but in varying degrees of usefulness depending on how your specific mech is built. So what can the Commando do better then the others, or how does a Spider with 8 jumpjets compare to a Jenner with 5 in guerrilla warfare? If you're in a Raven, what should your priorities be, harassing heavies and assaults or hunting other lights? What should you avoid and what should you pursue?
Still, solid advice and well presented
edit: and for the record, I feel the Spider is much better suited at harassing the big boys. Those jumpjets are tremendously useful for quickly engaging and then disengaging on your own terms, never letting your target dictate the flow of the fight. If I can jump over a large obstruction that another 'mech has to walk around, that's a huge tactical advantage.
of course, I am a little biased

Agreed! +1
However, it was stated in the video "During the demonstrations in this tutorial we will be utilizing a Jenner JR7-F with 6 medium lasers as it provides a good mid-range point to illustrate the philosophies in this guide"
I had thought of doing every single light mech but you are looking at an hour of compiled video and days of production work on the guide. Unless someone wants to begin paying me for guide/video work I'm gonna keep it to 3-4 hours of production work per video. The SRM guide I did took 5 hours of work/testing as an example.
For what you are suggesting I would think a break down of each specific mech would be best in it's own video which is something I may be able to do in the future. In fact your feedback has given me a couple of good ideas for mech videos! Thanks!

I know it's a lot of work but it would definitely be worth it and I know that there would be many new players who would appreciate it to the max, since it would lessen the severity of the learning curve when piloting lights. I've considered making a few but the FPS I play with coupled with a slaughtered user.cfg makes captured video look awful.
Glad I could help with some inspiration
