Been wanting to master all Catapults. Also, been running tests with missiles with the Catapults. I normaly don't use missiles because, they are to easly avoided. The K2 is my primary and favorite.

The Catapult-A1 will be an interesting one to test. As it has only missile hardpoints. Making it very vulnerable to ECM. The only type I can't see effecting this one much by ECM is the SRM loadout.

First series of tests will be with Steak SRMs. Then, SRMs. Followed by, LRMs.

SRM travel at about 300 m/s, and have a max range of 270m, so it should never take more than 1 second plus fire delay plus launcher door opening time to reach the target. You can open your launchers pre-emptively with / and leave them open as well. with a little practice they aren't hard to hit with at all.

Also, give it a shot with the new Artemis. Substantially improves flight paths on the SRMs when you're not being jammed - sort of a middle ground between SSRMs and SRMs haha.

However with Artemis you need at least SIX tons free on your mech to implement if you run six SRMs?

or any lrm/srm combo with six launchers. SSRM do not apply to this rule as they don't use it.

What is there to "test", really? Just copy the other 10,000 generic SRM cats out there and splat your way to the top of the leaderboard every time. This build may use rockets but it ain't rocket science to make it or use it.

I was never a fan of my A1. i found everything in the ears too unreliable

I've been trying hard to figure out how not to boat the A1 since boating is frowned upon so heavily in the community. Adding some ML's is a good way to do it. How did you fit them into Missile hardpoints?

A1 is perhaps the single most dominant and focused mech in the game.

Formerly it used Streaks to great effect and was the bane of anything it set its sights on. Then when ECM rained on the parade it turned into the alpha beast with 6xSrm6 launchers and a monster 90 damage alpha.

Any mech in the game fears an A1 popping up with the flaps up while its under 270m.

Yeah, big sacrifice for a 65 ton mech, too. But dat trajectory.

they don't bother me and my phract much, once they shoot, i tear righ through them

i would be interested in making an extreme lrm boat tho

Nah. Don't bother. Everyone knows that SRMs won't work with the A1- the head box is too big. As a brawler it is hopeless.

Don't believe me, do a search. Lots of threads with 'A1' and 'nerf' in the title. Don't bother reading them. Just take my word for it that they are all about how horrible the A1 with 6 SRM6s are.

Here is my A1 build i chose not to go with artemis in favor of more HS more ammo and jump jets CPLT-A1 It is quite deadly especially when you get the hang of the JJ to change up how you go in after certain mechs (killing shots while in the air are quite fun)

CPLT-A1 is a very fun and versatile mech. Not having a laser HP can be nasty business if you rely on lock weapons but with how broken everything is for now with LRMS most people use srm or srm / ssrm combos. Heres a few of the ones I use.

6 x srm 6 (Artemis)

Runs a little hot for my liking but very nice damage

or

4 x srm 6 2 x srm4 (Artemis)

nice heat / ammo - lacks a little power

or (whats in it right now)

4 x srm 6 2 x ssrm 2 (Artemis)

nice balance - ECM screws it but not too bad

also

2 x lrm 15 2 x srm 6 2 x ssrm 2 (Artemis)

Loved this build before the LRM drama. Sit at 180 meters and fire everything
