IT NEEDS TO BE A MAP CLICK, this direct LOS thing is ridiculous. Maybe limit it to areas your team can "see" with radar but stil let players place it iwth the little used B key map.

I think the way it is now will keep abuse down.

I'd love it if the Command Console gave the user the ability to use the Battle grid to target strikes.

It's occurred to me that firing off artillery from an overhead map display is exactly the way World of Tanks does it, and there has been non-stop crying about it since day 1.

Firing from battle grid is dumb. The grid is too big for any semblance of accuracy in the strikes.

Would be nice if it was LOS for "normal" pilots and battlegrid for those with an upgraded command console or something, to promote support mechs and teamwork etc.

YEP!! Was thinking exactly the same thing. It would give CConsole some tactical value on the field.

Command console to enable grid strikes would be a great idea imo, finally give a reason to run as full support.

Well with some use of it, testing and feedback maybe we can help them define a better approach.

One step at a time.

Hell they could create the ability for one player to initiate a strike that goes on hold until another player uses a TAG. There are various possible approaches.

What about a beacon that last 5 min that we drop and if that beacon detects a mech. STRIKE ONE! Who knows but that is all part of it. We help the devs to figure it out.

What's the whole point of saying "Here is a pro tip: Use them for when a light is capping your base on Alpine and save yourself a walk back to your spawn!" if you need to walk back to your spawn to get LOS on your base?

No, this works fine, it promotes the use of it on scouts to, wait, get this, Scout and soften up targets with indirect fire and relay information. OH! MAWGAWD!
