So i've been using the Cicada for quite some time, and noticed that i almost never lose anything other than my CT. It started to feel like i was piloting the Dragon back in early Beta when all possible damage went to his CT leaving every other part completely pristine :(

So i wanted to ask if someone else thinks that Cicada's hitbox needs adjustments or is it just me?

I die a lot in Cicadas. Probably because I love using them. I try to move around the damage. With heavier slower targets it is easy, but with targets that can keep up with me, ravens and the like, it is hard. I usually die by ct destruction with little damage being done elsewhere when fighting lights.

Basically use your Cicada as a super fast medium support mech and shred components while the enemy isn't looking. Remember to use your teammates to bait lights shooting your rear. Don't engage lights unless your team is shooting them too.

Does it need a different hitbox... I think anything bigger than us says please no and anything smaller than us is quivering at the thought. Doubting your gonna get your wish.

To tell the truth, i don't even know why i use it...
Probably just because i like the way it looks i guess.
It has terrible weaponry, light armor. Sure, it's fast, but it has no jumpjets and has a HUGE model, moronically huge, i mean it's supposed to be only 14% heavier than a jenner, but is almost twice the size, i mean where's the logic?

I think i should just sell it and get a damn Raven 3L and be an op fuckwad like everyone else

A lot of the problems are that weapons converge onto a single point. Thus, when players fire, they only worry about aiming at that CT, thus the majority of their damage is only going to land there.

This is not a problem specifically to Cicadas, you will notice most mechs are only losing CTs. Sometimes L/R Torsos are lost. And this is specifically why arms never aimed for. The only time when arms are destroyed is against mechs that have most of their weaponry in that location or they are torso twisting to block shots with arms.

Yes, the Cicada's CT hitbox is too large, because the entire mech is too large. OTOH, there is no disincentive to running an XL engine, and many variants have at least one shield arm. The secret to success in the Cicada is to twist and guard the torso like an assault pilot.

As much as I love my X-5, almost every single battle ends with me having no ct and yellow/orange everything else.

I think you can get hit in the CT from the sides fairly easily.

Edit- I think the point about the cicada being almost too big is true. It really is large compared to lights, and for only a 5t difference, I'm not sure it's worth it. Such a big target.

not everyone. i am out on the field getting murdered by streaks in my ERPPC jenner. although it has gotten much easier since they severely reduced firing lag and made the ERPPC much more predictable at high speeds.

Yeah, the Cicada is just too big in general. All the mediums are, in fact. They're huge, but don't actually have much armour. They're basically a lightly-armoured, lightly-armed heavy. Well, aside from the Cicada; it's just a light with slightly more armour and weapons, but is ridiculously large to (over)compensate.
