If I go to my per-weapon stat page, shouldn't the total damage for let's say an AC20 be divisible by the number of hits and come to a value very close to 20?

AC20, 8 hits, 114 damage. 114 / 8 = 14.25 damage per hit.
Gauss Rifle, 14.89 damage per hit.
UAC5, 5.07 damage per hit?

I suspect it is due to death and dismemberment (if you shoot something with less than 20 health it does less than 20 damage).

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

You also have range. If you shoot past the range limit you do reduced damage.

Weapons do less damage over optimal range.

Good point. Thanks. UAC seems to be doing more than its declared damage but perhaps double-shot mode or ammo explosions are mucking up the numbers.

I'm more concerned about the U-AC/5 than the AC/20...

The damage stat also takes into consideration crit damage, So if you hit an unarmored CT with the UAC/5 and got a crit, that's 10 dmg factored in.
