Basically, they all moved upper, but we went lower. I had them ALL spotted before they even made it out of D4, so we intercepted them without them even knowing we were there.
It's really good on my atlas, but the decreased heat makes it a bit harder to ruin people.
Now imagine thermal doesn't go out like nanovision, so you can't get bluewarriors sight on everybody.

For comparison, I can lock targets on River City from one Cap to the other (if a building isn't in the way).
Against ECM, the Sensor2 module makes no difference in practice, due to the server authoritive lag in locking an ECM target that moves into the sensor envelope.

Doesn't that leave us back at square one of 'BAP does nothing to help with ECM'? Which a PGI staffer just contradicted. From my game play experience I assume he's mistaken, but if BAP does effect ECM lock range, it suddenly became a must have of any missile boat.
I currently don't use it because I can get everything it does from 2 sensor mods (and more since Adv sensor mod DOES effect ECM unlike BAP, according to previous posts by PGI) for no crit space, no tonnage. and I've found that having a sensor range out past 1000 only encourages wasting LRM ammo on shots that are out of range.

I see you! A thief on the roof! My new satellite uplink has both the infra-red and X-ray spectrum! I can see your heart beating. I can see that you are afraid.

Imagine if they add a UAV consumable (I know, consumables, right?) that gives you overhead battlefield vision for a limited time (or perhaps the command console can access overhead satellites for a short time per every few minutes. I like this idea).
Your warboss will truly become da best boss of the waaaagh.

It's what I've always dreamt of. So much fun getting the jump on EVERYBODY right now. There's less typing needed when there's red stuff showing on the map right away.

Are you running ECM on that thing as well?
Hell, you're basically the Atlas from the Mechwarrior 5 trailer. Pup up around corners and make people crap their pants.

More like because no one ever shuts down.
i see people shut down but it really sucks if you cant tell them friend from foe when you have BAP on.
are you saying people build good mechs? or DHS are too good? or just never seen someone shut down in a long time? cuz i see people shut down, not often but it happens.
or you have never notice they shut down cause your bap isnt in range?? lol

but i would love to see it implemented in this game. the problems they said existed, would easily be solvable via some fixes. maybe a buff to passive radar.
2 levels of target information, line of sight and radar only.
it would give C3 purpose. nerf ECM. and make BAP viable.
In classic information warfare, most people using passive radar with C3 is essentially what this game is. Its a deeper system, that with the right tweeks and buffs to passive radar, could essentially encompass the MWO system. But with more depth.
The C3 being a module
because electronic warfare used to make sense.
maybe in a "classic" gamemode.. got my fingers crossed

It's common sense not to shut down. The only time I've ever done it was when we laid an ambush under the bridge in river city. That's the only time in 8 months.

BAP stacks with sensor module for targeting range.
BAP does not help against ECM. The targeting band you get is from the sensor range module. Adv. Sensor range makes the band even bigger.
Sorry for the confusion.

dont think people want to deliberately shut down in the ""heat"" of battle.
point was the range is not long enough to detect shutdown mechs during battle, not that people may or may not shut down.
