Game Lobby System Needed

I will start here--> http://www.crytek.co...ngine3/overview the crytek 3 engine supports so many of the things needed in MWO and it was all built in for PGI to use. It truly is a marvelous engine and to be chopped down to what MWO has shown us is sad.It even supports large chat and game launch platforms. We need a lobby system like the MSN gamming zone. PGI loses no control by placing it in the middle of there launcher and allowing 3rd person leagues to form and be revived by older players like MWL-NBT-MWA-SL-VL-CBT-ETC. It would in fact bring more players back into the community fold from all past PC MechWarrior games and give the new players a true way to play and drop and RP the battletech universe. But we would need a few key things along with the lobby system #1 the ability to save build configs in mechlab.#2 the ability to pick maps then drop in 1v1-36v36 drops for solo and team based leagues.#3 play modes like attrition destruction capture etc.#4 Statistic tracking. PGI has nothing to lose by doing this and has every thing to gain as in millions of players. PGI will also have planetary run through there game ingame that way players will pay and support them. You clearly don't bother to read what the Devs post do you? There is a lobby coming out in the next couple months.

From what I have read it is not a true lobby type launcher would you please be so kind to post some links?

From what I have gathered, it will be similar to the Call of Duty lobby, where 24 players (instituted after 12v12) are dropped into a lobby, premades will be assigned to the appropriate team (premade vs. premade instead of premade + premade vs. pugs), then pugs will balance it out. All 24 players will be able to vote on which of 2 maps will be the next map played.

I will just answer it one way(It wont work) in MechWarrior you need a open launch platform to pick mechs pick maps pick play mode styles (IE) destruction attrition capture etc For leagues to work. Also statistic tracking per match. COD lobby will not work period with MechWarrior it will be a total flop just like ELO.

Based off the Dev comments, it looks like you'll be able to swap mechs at the lobby screen as well - at least on a variant basis (substitute one readied Catapult for another readied Catapult in your mechbay).

I suppose if your Clan, you can swap your weapon pods at that point as well, but thats just my speculation.

ELO rocks and I don't want jokers picking their mechs to fit the maps. Random or semi-random maps forever!

And of course Custom games that allow all you requested. But noone would get put into these games unintentionally.

So let me get this straight: We will be able to drop into a lobby, be assigned a team, vote for a map, and select 1 of 4 mechs that you select prior to entering the lobby, and drop... But that will be a massive fail? ... Care to explain why it would fail, rather than demonstrate your ability to ragetroll like a spoonfed nub?

I truly don't understand you did not name yourself sillylogic? see the image above? the lobby one? you place that launcher/chat format into the current MWO launcher right in the middle. When you log in like you do now your already logged into the lobby launcher. If you want to play me a 1v1 we could join a room pick a map pick our mechs and launch the game and play or practice. With a launcher setup like COD or the one you are describing it would in fact be a random crappshoot just like MM and ELO is right now. That's why it will fail the setup you describe might work for a game like cod but MechWarrior is more team based like a bowling league and tournament brackets have always been found to work best with the IP. We tried a system like you have described it was a random generator for the league players hated it and returned to more structured ladder type 1v1-12v12 tournament mode winner takes all approach.
