besides the new modes that are needed like king of the hill and capture the flag and free for all matches . i feel that coop campaign style missions is something that i and others would pay cash or MC for if structured properly.
As each new game mode comes online, i suggest a new 2 part coop team mission would accompany it. and be purchasable with MC. Of course, you can, as a player elect to not buy the mission and just play the normal King of the hill mode with its normal rewards system of c-bills and xp awards. or you can opt to buy the mission. which once successfully completed gives exclusive rewards like unlocking paint colors or perhaps a percentile c-bill boosts for selected mechs or awarded an extra mech bay. or even persistent discounts on certain items in the mech lab..

As Each mission has 2 sides, so 2 sets of different rewards can be unlocked by playing both sides of a mission as an attacker and as the defender.

Also each player has to log a win from both sides of the mission to be able accept the next mission release.

Also playing the " mission" of a mode would have higher risks and higher rewards than playing the non campaign mode.

first the campaign version or "mission" may have some requirements or limitations that the normal game mode would not have. IE making it a tougher match than a normal KOTH game.

However, with higher risks are higher rewards too. As each side has its own reward tree and you get both trees with one mission purchase. or perhaps the reward for successfully completing both sides of a mission could be to get an early jump on the upcoming mech release or get a discount toward its purchase. There are many incentive possibilities here that don't unbalance the game.

I'd love to see Co-Op and Single Player missions, but that sort of thing is way down the pipe. Let's get Community Warfare up and running, and Solaris coming down the pipe before we start talking about AI.

paying MC for missions just doesn't make sense in F2P gaming, there's no concept of a paywall like you have in those level expansions for CoD and whatnot. Instead everyone plays together and they make money from those who want to appear different or level quicker.

um.. thats exactly what i was saying. the missions are paths to rewards that do just that... They unlocked colors an cockpit items and c-bill/xp boosts or discounts. Just things that make ya look different and level a bit quicker.

what did you mean "paywall" ? looks like 2000 mc is what the market would bear.

make that 1000.. miss read the results

wasn't really talking "AI" like dropping against a computer opponent. you would drop against other players. i guess in a mission like escort or destroy a convoy ya have an AI moving accross the map. and didnt mean single player missions either, i meant group coop missions. i guess it would be an individual achievment for accomplishing a group task. as far as tracking a pilots progress.

i was thinking that this would sort of simulate a community warfare situation on a small scale until the real one is up and running.

They wouldn't be able to add this before the infrastructure for CW was installed anyway, so no. A dev recently said something about May for initial CW stuff, and finalizing all of the features by August or something like that.

Certainly, I loved the missions in the previous Mechwarrior installments, and I'm sure I played through all the MW4 missions at least a half dozen times. Perhaps this game platform will allow for a similar stand alone or co-op missions - or maybe even customizable missions and maps. But I agree with the others: let's meet the CW goals first. When the game is fully flushed out, I bet PGI could create a whole campaign based on this platform if they wanted to, and many people would buy it. Still, I don't see it happening this year. (My prediction would be that we'd NEVER see this come out through PGI, but after this game has been released, and maybe 2 or 3 years after that they may release the code so people could create their own missions and/or run their own servers. But someday, maybe! We can only hope.)
