This is mistaken -- Commandos only go to 210 Engines.

And my cataphract 1x goes 86.8 kph. Seriously it does. It's only using the XL 315 and speed tweak. So with the max XL 340 engine it'll go even faster.

Using canon as a basis is longer valid as they don't limit engine size by increments of the mech tonnage. Before a 100 ton mech at 100, 200, 300, and 400 as engine choices in canon/TT, right now you have 100-350 as engine choices. It's apples and oranges as much as one is inspired by the other.

Plus Speed Tweak giving that 10% boost has really thrown the ranges off. Most light mechs use to move 7-11 (fast for a light) would be at 118.8kph, now with speed boost going up to 150, we're giving mechs the equivalent of a 350 engine with only the costs of a 300 engine in weight and c-bills.

Before 120-140 kph was considered the ultra-fast range, now it's the lower end of acceptable in fast mechs. So any attempts at canon in MWO is an exercise in futility. Until they bring back limitations of engine sizes in increments of mech weight, the systems are forever different.

I know there are 2 types of limitation on speed for mechs, at least I think so, however, at 1.4 for lights and 1.3 for mediums, most of the faster lights and Cicada are very much lower than what they should be.

The Jenner starts with a 245, so it has 340 max, top speed 157.31->173.06, which is moderately feasible at 20.5 tons.
Spider starts with a really high 240 so it can go to 335 (and its lighter!) for 180.9->199.03, but at 20 tons, I don't think we'll see that many running around.
The Flea will be worthless, it starts so low at 120, it can go to 140, and that gives it a top speed of the current Jenners ~138.8, although since STD engines are very similar in weight at 120-140, I suspect almost all Fleas will carry STD engines.
Cicadas with such high 320's to start end with a max engine 400 (416 lulz) and speeds of 162->178.23 but it can't really carry that XL anyway at 33.5 tons.

Sorry if I made any mistakes. Just based on current numbers and the 1.4 (and like I said, there are 2 limitations to speed/engine size, the 1.4 and 1.3 is only one of them, and I don't know the other).
