As for TDM, since when in the Mechwarrior universe has there never been a lance-on-lance battle to the death?

the first mechwarrior did not have TDM
mechwarrior 2 didnt have it until a later date when it was added for windows 95. although it ran terribly and was not widely used.
so really, it was only since mechwarrior 3 that most mechwarriors (as in players) had lance-on-lance battles to the death i suppose.

K town calls.

uh huh. let me know how those mechwarrior 1 TDM's went. i bet you were best in class

do us all a favor and use logic and reason to explain to us all why you think TDM should be in the game and assault should not. i'd really love to hear what you have to say other than uninspired drivel.
explain to us why an ancient relic of online gaming would be preferrable over a modified, more tactical version of the same game mode.

So 3 out of 4 Mechwarrior games have had TDM.

Do you even math son?

Not to mention the Mercs expansions and MW:LL

You're very bad at this, please seek instruction.

Even though you aren't serious....sometimes it tends to be correct.

Funny thing is that we do have quite a few successful and experienced mechwarriors kicking around that would put certain fields in their company to shame..but hey...let's ignore countless of thousands of experience kicking around on their forums FOR FREE!

YA! That's a GREAT IDEA OP!

HAHA!

You have to realize to people who aren't blind that some decisions look like blind blundering due to their experience. That's when you get the people posting thoughts, ideas and criticism about what's goin' on.

Someone seems to think that everyone who posts against the devs is a pre teen struggling to ration his mountain dew in a basement.

I have obviously moved on to vanilla cola.

"every" and "3 out of 4" are two different things. not to mention NO ONE PLAYED MW2 ONLINE. so really it's 2 out of 4. gosh son, we went from "every" to "half" maybe it's you who should learn how to math.

Actually I prefer a forum filled with angry rage posts (coz usually there are enough people with cooler heads to make reading it through worthwhile).

While it can get quite depressing after a while but it usually shows that the game is filled with passionate players and generally quite healthy.

The only gaming forums, in my experience, that are peaceful and filled with "friendly" folks are those dying ones, where everyone is trying to be nice to each other coz they are desperate to welcome newbies and make them stay ;)

i'd have an easier time feeling the same way if i knew all the people crying were paying players. unfortunately 9/10 of the whining posts are made by people who proudly proclaim they will not pay anything for the game.

that's what most of the forum posts look like lately.

i havnt even been playing that long compared to some and ive already seen this place go to hell

edit: capping isnt going away, so shut up.
this isnt CoD, so quit crying about a pure team deathmatch mode
oh look, coolant made it into the game and the sky didnt fall. in fact, it made no difference whatsoever.
simply removing double heatsinks would create a slew of new problems and a lot more rebalancing would need to take place than if double heatsinks were left alone and heat generation for a few weapons were tweaked. it wouldnt be the magical cure-all you think it would be.

tldr;?
shut up.

Tend to agree with most of what you say, however comparing something that people want in this game to CoD is apples and oranges (IE.stupid). Solaris battle grounds for 1v1 matches would fit into the game, and are consistent with LORE. They have also been suggested in the suggestion forums as far back as closed BETA. They would give those that are interested in that aspect of game play their candy, while the rest would be able to play 5v5, 8v8, 10v10 or what ever scale battles the Devs end up putting into the game. So until you learn more about what those players want and why they want it I will quote you "Shut Up".

you replied to my comments about people requesting a TDM mode by talking about 1v1... which is not TDM.
this is exactly the kind of illogical crap that prompted me to make this post.

step 1: learn how to think
step 2: learn how to read
step 3: put steps 1 and 2 together so you can go on to
step 4: formulate an opinion and post it in a logical manner

do you, by chance, PLAY CoD?

Team death matches took place in Solaris also.
some suggestions for you.
Step 1: stop crying.
step 2: grow up
Step 3: If you can't play with others (well you know the rest).
Step 4:make logical posts instead of rants about what other players would like to see put into the game.

lol all im seeing from you right now is a temper tantrum because you have nothing else to say.
did you even read anything else in this thread?
here i'll say it again, JUST FOR YOU:

the more match types you introduce to the game, the larger effect it has on matchmaking. if you want fast, reliable matchmaking in a game that is still trying to increase its player base, you need to make the matchmaking pool as large as possible. introducing more game modes, with specific numbers of players, will EACH reduce the number of people in your matchmaking pool.
PLUS clan warfare is coming relatively soon, a lot sooner than a myriad of new game modes that's for sure, although new game modes ARE in the works.

so please, tell me why you feel the need to cry about 1v1 and TDM RIGHT NOW as opposed to just waiting and letting the devs work on the things they're working on?

and all i'll say about your pathetic attempt to reverse my typing system on me is that it's painfully obvious you're flailing.
