Ok, you got me. I have no idea what you're talking about.
Edit: Never mind, figured it out... Sandhurst
Although anyone who's been in a desert windstorm will tell you that sand does hurt.

Why would they broadcast things like "We are getting our butt's kicked and cant even win a battle by some insanely superior, unidentified military steamrolling star system after star system" to us to the general public?
Not to mention that ComStar is assisting the Clans. Even if someone did want to broadcast something, ComStar could block it, and no one would know.

LOL! hardly, do you think for one min that a major war going on in 3 major houses against an unknown enemy is going to go on unnoticed?? Really? What, do you think the general public would not be in voided? Do you think no one lives on the planets they are hitting? Really? Trust me the news would be racing threw the IS like a wild fire. The military channels alone would be swamped and those houses effected would be calling in Merc's to add in the defense of their territories. Plus, you forgot one very big thing, "We are not the general public, we are Merc's & House members in the military" "We" would have direct intell on what's going on and that info would be leaked to the ISN. Plain and simple fact, so where is the news?? Plus a Comstar black can not stop ship traffic where real face to face reports would leak out.

The Clan Warship, DropShips and Aerospace compliments siezed all inbound Jumpships. The Jumpships that did make it out only were able to jump one planet away. These planets were either part of the 1st Wave (March-April 3050) or were hit as part of the 2nd Wave (May-June 3050) or 3rd Wave (June 3050). It takes a Jumpship and average of 7-Days to recharge. By the late in the 2nd Wave as word of an invasion was spreading along the front Jumpships recharged and jumped further away fro the front.
As stated above ComStar was working with the Clans. So it is believed that they stopped sending transmissions. So either they closed their doors and claimed to be impartial or they just did not send out the messages that they were suppose to transmit or maybe they just delayed them.
You said "The military channels alone would be swamped". They cannot talk between planets unless ComStar lets them. And since ComStar wants the Clans to win, because the Clans have agreed to let ComStar govern the planet. Do you think they are letting the transmissions through?
"those houses effected would be calling in Merc's to add in the defense of their territories."
35 planets were lost in the 1st Wave (March-April 3050) along the Periphary. The FedCom has lost contact with 12 planet. The Kurita Lost contact with 11. An FRR lost contact with 12. Each House is not sure if it is an organized Pirtare attack or if one of the other Houses have switched tactics and decided to attack along a different front.
While there is the shifting of some forces. This shifting is a slow proccess. They need to watch their other borders just incase an invasion comes from that direction as well. It is not until the lull in the Invasion, when Hanse met Theodore on Outreach and Hanse gives his word to Theodore that he will not attack Kurita, did both force shift more units. A transimission, if allowed by ComStar, could take along time to get from the front to the capital. Then the approval must be made to hire Mercs.
Also Kurita had a "Death to all Merc". So they will not hire any until after the Battle of Luthien (3052).
Communications take a long time.

Your naivete is almost cute. I presume you're not familiar with the lore of the setting. Even if you aren't, do you really think all of the news from the fighting in various parts of our world (aka Real Life) really gets widest dissemination?
