Alot of my discoveries are by trial and error (I know now to hide behind the BUFFs when in my Jenner) and alot by reading in here and thanks for that.
Question i have is this, and I apologize if there is already a thread on this, but is this eventually progressing into a RPG game with the factions and Clans coming into play?

Well you have to give the DEV's more time. The game is still progressing, slowly, but it is still progressing and they have said that they want to include more worlds, more elements and make it seem more like a RPG to some extent. Or at least have a feel that there's more to the game that just a vehicle shooter. But it's going to take a lot more time before we'll see the full power of this fully operational Mechwarrior: Online.

Not trying to be a downer, but I think people are expecting a lot considering the devs don't call it an MMO or an RPG... they call it a first person tactical shooter.
- 8v8 or even 12v12 is not massive (as in MMO) and never will be.
- The devs have not mentioned any persistent worlds where we interact with each other (beyond 8v8 or 12v12 in a static, non-persistent map).
- They said no player based economy.
- Community warfare sounds like it may have a persistent planetary star system map, if that makes it an MMO then our standards have dropped...
- No PvE planned.
- We are not leveling up pilots we are unlocking skills on a per mech basis so I don't see how that is an RPG element.

Really, it depends upon what your definition of "RPG" (role-playing game) is. I would say that MWO has some minor RPG elements, but I wouldn't personally call it a RPG at this time. More of a multiplayer non-hardcore vehicle sim (by hardcore I mean like, DHS games, Falcon series, etc) with minor RPG elements. I may change my mind when CW goes in, depending on how in-depth that is.

THEY AREN'T ROBOTS. THEY ARE BATTLEMECHS. AND WE ARE MECHWARRIORS.
and people wonder why I try to save my mech, waiting for extraction, when I'm down 7 to 1.
A true MechWarrior knows when to save the metal, if they can.
