So I currently own the 3F and the 5S and have unlocked all of the basic perks for those two. Which should I get next? What are the advantages/disadvantages of the other models? Any help in my decision would be appreciated.

Assume I'm not a complete newb and have actually looked at that thing. Which chassis would you suggest and why?

The majority goes with the STK-5M for its 5 Missile tubes (even tho one is a Narc-tube)

STK-4N is the worst Stalker.Basically a 5S minus a Missile Hardpoint and minus an AMS.

STK-3H has 20-tubes in each arm.

The -3F and the -5S both have ten hardpoints (6 energy and 4 missile). In terms of hardpoint count, the next good one is the -5M (5 energy and 5 missile). A big advantage of the -5M is the centerline hardpoint, as it can still have a weapon after losing both side torsos (a not uncommon event, in my experience). One of the missile hardpoints is for a NARC launcher, which can be a problem.

I had mine configured with the original ER Large Laser, four medium pulse lasers, and as many SRM tubes as I could stuff into it.

5M is perfect for a PPC Trollcannon. With XL300 you can totally load four PPCs with five SSRM2s for close-range combat.

Other than that above has it all.

I am in a similar situation so I have been thinking about a few designs. The 5M looks more promising. However, the 3H can be a decent support mech and the 4N could even be a brawler.

STK-5M
STK-5M

STK-3H

STK-4N

Here is my 3F for reference. It is a mid/close range monster. So much fun.
STK-3F

Any feedback would be appreciated as I only have the 3F at the moment and will get two more for elite/master skills. the 5S might be one of those as I can just copy the 3F layout albeit with less torso twist.

Honestly, I already had 5000 mech XP on the 4N, so I decided to go for that one. I sold all of the components because I have no intention of using it. I already banged out of the basic perks and just finished the elite perks on my 3F. Once I hit master I plan on selling the 5S and the 4N. The 3F is by far my favorite.

I use something very similar. I'm running 2xSRM6s+Artemis instead of SSRMs. I have pretty good aim, even on fast movers. So it works out well for me.

That sounds like an interesting idea. STK-3F

If you drop some SRM ammo, I normally never go through 3 tons, and some armor, you can add another two medium lasers.

3F is my Stalker election variant (happy brawler), followed by the 5M (nice sniper or multirole); that CT energy hardpoint can save you when you zombie.

I've used the 5S to exp the other two, and then got rid of it. Whenever I use stalkers I can't waste that single slot for even 1 AMS, I won't do it for two anti-missile systems.. most of the times it would mean to waste away two DHSs.

The 4N is on sale. If you just need a 3rd for elite, I'd get that one. All stalkers can be made good.

Yeah that's what I ended up doing. Already had a ton of XP on it for when I used that trial mech.
