We get new mech lab functions with UI2.0 like saving mech loadouts. At this time we have to make the decision if we want standart amor or ferro amor and standart structure or endosteel structure if we want to change it back we have to buy it again and again. i have different mech versions wich need different loadouts of ferro and endo wich means when i change the loadout i need to spend money again to switch ferro or endo. after a while its easyer and sheaper to buy the same mech again instead of switching.i really like to see that when we buy ferro or endo for a mech once we have it forever for this specific mech and can switch between them without spending money again and again.

It would be convenient although I think they will leave it as is as a money sink.

Still support the idea, assuming it is extended to all upgrades :)

No. Converting from standard components to upgraded components should cost C-Bills. Converting from upgraded components back to standard components should cost C-Bills.

Technically, making even one change to a BattleMech should cost C-Bills. You should feel lucky that you get to swap out that Machine Gun for a Gauss Rifle, or exchange that SRM rack for a Streak launcher, or put in a shiny new XL engine ... all for free (other than the cost for the item itself, of course).

It should be a permanent upgrade on that mech. You can kinda explain having to get a whole seperate skeleton for endo steel, but the armor? Come on, if its just changing armor which can be done already, then having a stock pile of ferrors and normal armor would make more sense..

This is a game first and a "simulation" second, upgrades are options. If you buy it, it should be swappable without issues. If they started implementing a cost for every change, it would makes sense (though it would absolutely suck).

How are people voting and talking against having the ability to use more load outs without costing tons of C-bill? You want to be able to do less with your mechs and your money?

after a certain point the money stops mattering. if you make money every match and there is no ever present way to spend it then it just collects until prices don't matter. eventually you will have every weapon and piece of equipment you will ever need.

This will solve a lot of your headaches. At least in this iteration of the game, upgrades are not so expensive as to be prohibitive. So, if you have to grind a couple more matches to get the perfect build, so be it.

Also, if I recall, they were talking about SOMEDAY implementing a testing ground where you can take out builds before you buy them to see if they run hot or whatever. I think it was in the latest ask the devs answers (34).

It's not JUST changing the armor out. Remember that Ferro-Fibrous armor is VERY bulky. To keep your 'Mech looking the same outside, they have to stuff that extra bulk inside the 'Mech. It takes time and effort to find places to shoe-horn that into places where it wasn't designed to go.

And even if it is just replacing standard armor, an armor plate that fits just fine on a Commando isn't going to fit on a Centurion without major modification.

I know smurfy....this sounds like i am too stupid to build my mechs...no what i mean is that some of my mechs have different versions. One version requires endo and the other dont. When i like to play another variant of a chassi type i have to pay for endo or normal etc everytime. thats a bit annoying.
