Hi all. This is a gut feeling suggestion, not based off any empirical evidence.

I think the pilots perspective in the Dragon should be shifted back a little bit from the view screen.

When piloting the Dragon, more than in any other mech I find myself cycling through the zoom modes. I think my brain is identifying the default view, as slightly zoomed and so I constantly shuffle through the zoom options during combat as I feel like I've forgotten to unzoom. Only to find that the view was already at default and not zoomed at all.

Without access to the code obviously I can't see if this gut feel is correct or not, but it really does feel like that compared to other mechs, there is something off about being in the Dragon (from a pure FOV perspective).

I think maybe in closed beta the dragon's view was further back perhaps, and so I've been trained on a certain view? Was it shifted forward at any stage?

Regardless, my suggestion is to slightly shift it backwards, and raise the angle a tiny bit to keep the nose in the correct proportions or something similar.

At the moment, it really does feel cramped, just a psychological feeling and not anything I can pin down :D

Anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

You can change your field of view in the cockpit for any mech, you have to go it the files and change some numbers. I dont know how, but you can search for it and find it.

Ty for links, however I already run at 80 fov ;)

It shouldn't matter what fov you run at though, as long as you don't change fov between mechs. When doing a comparison between different cockpits, my feeling is that the Dragons are off slightly in relation to others.

I find that this only really happens noticeably in the Dragon. If it was purely fov related I would experience this in other chassis as well.

Maybe I'm the only one to notice this though?

Not just you. The Dragon's fov is horrible. Its ginormous bosom blocks your low peripherals and large shoulders block your side view.
