Increase heat dissipation. Decrease max heat cap.

no

Balancing this game is as easy as these 2 steps:

Step 1: http://mwomercs.com/...ce-suggestions/

Step 2: http://mwomercs.com/...eedback-thread/

Step 3: Profit.

That doesn't actually address any of the games actual balance issues. It's a buff to poptarting, a buff to dual ac-20/gauss play, a buff to SRM boating, and a huge nerf to any laser/lrm play. It's a good start but you have to introduce a change like that alongside a universal re-balancing of heat. The games most powerful builds are some of its most heat efficient.

IMHO a good, hard look at weapon convergence would be a great place to start.

To Balance this game they need to limit the critical slots for each weapon hard-points so instead of having an A1 with 12 slots for weapons in the arms limit the slots to 6. Less cheese More balance.

Of all the mechanics in this game I feel that heat management is the most balanced/spot on thing they've done.

Which is why the coolant flush thing is irritating, but that another topic.

So "no thanks" to your suggestion.

Tell that to splat cats, poptarts, poptart cats, or any of the other "games best builds" that can kill an assault before overheating easily. There are distinct issues with heat management in this game, it's not a balanced system.

Players will always create "best builds". No point in nerfing them.

Why do so many people want their lasers to shoot in some other direction than where they point them?

Haven't heard? Aiming is OP and needs to be nerfed.

Correct. Under any system, there will always be min/maxers who find the optimal builds. This is not hello kitty online. Man-up.

Because they played games like halo.

I don't even know how that correlates, lasers definitely go where you shoot them in halo.

Are we back to last year where we told them Weapon Convergence is bad?

They currently go someone other than where I point them. Look at the Hunchback with lasers in it's hunch. They are spaced out but when fired all angle to converge on a single point without any sort of system to angle them. Gimbaled mounts might work to do that, but they are not super fast and calibrating them would be a MAJOR pain on something that gets knocked around as much as a mech.

It would look something similar to this and not the simple focused lenses we have for energy weapon mounts.
