If you are a clanner and you use the innersphere name for a clan Mech .
It is considered very taboo. A lot like going in having sex with your sister.
If I walk up to you said oh that's a really nice Chevy and the emblem says Ford. You would correct me and say no it's a Ford. And then for the rest of the time I know you I call your car Chevy You are probably going to get a little bit upset. In fact I'll just car start calling it a Chevy Mustang or camery . Names like mad cat are just code names because the IS didn't know what they were calle. SO next time you say your name Jack And someone calls you Bob . Don't get mad.

The IS names are not really the 'wrong' names, from their point of view. They are sort of like the NATO reporting names for the Russian vehicles, whose official names the West simply did not know at the time.

That said, I *do* prefer the Clan names, for a rather obvious reason.

Not 100% accurate. The Ebon Jaguar is really only called such within the Smoke Jaguars - other clans actually use the Inner Sphere designation of Cauldron Born.

I like to use the Clan names because not only are they the best names, Timberwolf, Summoner, Kit Fox, they are also the most fitting. But the truth is, the Mad Dog will always be the Vulture to me.

only clan mechs i call by the clan names are the hellbringer and the fire moth. cause i never remember the name for the fire moth and loki sounds stupid.

So how many of you have won a Bloodname? How about two? I have two Bloodnames, one is my handle here. I think I will call the mechs how I want. My favorites are the Dasher, Ryoken, Vulture, Masakari, and I am thinking that the Loki is going to be the real sleeper as it sucked in the boardgame. At least those are the mechs I am looking to get.
