Alright, so now that we have seen the Artemis controller I'm left with one big question. Since the game is apparently going to include some MFD support for this particular controller, does this mean that MFD support will be available to everyone, or that they will try to make the Razer controller the only system that can use it as to make the unit more attractive than other alternatives.

I'm not trolling or whining about the Artemis, I'm really happy to see that they came up with something to satisfy those steel battalion guys, but I think the support should be expanded to other MFD's for those of us who want to use it in sim-cockpits etc.

I'm looking into buying a 7 inch monitor to add to my cockpit for this kind of functionality and it would be fantastic if the support for the Artemis was expanded to be usable with regular monitors and maybe even high end flight sim MFD's.

I would like to see an app for Android that would allow me to turn my Galaxy Tab into the radar.

Is it going to happen? Most likely not. But it is a cool dream.

Thats a pretty sick setup you got there. I have thought about picking up a third monitor so i can play this game in eyefinity. In regards to the artemis controler, while it looks cool, I feel it is a bit impractical. From the pictures it appears the screen can show the radar display. While novel, as sure as hell dont want to be looking away from the main screen when in battle. Especially when i can have that same info right there.

If the game has multi monitor support you could try getting one of those extender apps that allow your tablet to appear as a second monitor. It might provide a workaround.

I'm pretty good with one screen, so when/if I get another, it'll be for a MFD. Maybe a touchscreen for all the fun stuff?

The MFD on the artemis is the part I'm excited about.

I'd be happy if MW:O had multi-monitor support so the second monitor could be designated to be a standard LCD. With some keyboard shortcuts to interact with what the 2nd monitor displays.

multi-touch seems really cool, but I don't know how much I would use it in practice. I try to avoid taking my hand off the controls as much as possible.

I also would like to see a setup that allows those of us with two or more monitors to make good use of them. That seems to be the direction the devs are going anyhow, and it could allow a more immersive game experience. An Eyefinnity setup could allow you to see the extra display indicators and out the side of your cockpit, which is the best of both worlds.

If its not over 100 dollars I might get it. But I seriously doubt it will be anywhere near that affordable. Would be cool though if you could use the MFD to show, say, the magnetic view filter while your regular view remains on the main screen. Something like that.

In one of the dev interviews they stated there would be support for multiple displays. I don't see why you couldn't add an additional display and set the view area for the radar. But I also don't know for sure.

I thought I already read somewhere that MWO was supporting multi-monitor setups. I guess a patch would be possible, but I'd think they'd already have the functionality for displaying (at least,) radar/map data on the 2nd screen to support the Artemis. Yeah, I know it's a concept, but it makes sense in my head - & it was kind of epic with Supreme Commander.

I'm a fan of the concept, but not the execution. I don't like my controls all smashed together. I prefer a more natural, relaxed placement. That way my arms dont get tired as fast. If I'm going to pay money for a mock-pit, I'm going full nerd and building it from components to custom fit my preferences. I'd start with the Saitek x52 (Pro) flight controls, combined with either the Logitech pilot seat or a racing bucket seat and a 5-point harness. Mix that up with a 27" monitor, a compact wireless keyboard and mouse that can be stowed out of the way when not in use, and the Logitech G13 or Razer Nostromo macro pad (or simply a USB Numbers Keypad) for mech functions, and you've got my ideal mech mock-pit! Just sayin'.

That would be epic! I would build an HDD slot in my mock-pit, just so I could use that! ....Or maybe a swivel arm mount...hmm, the mind boggles!

Been there, tried that, got the t-shirt but it was so crappy that i threw it away.

The only available third party app that can do that is laggy as hell and disables 3D support for the whole operating system, so you can either have the display working or play a game, not both.
