Wins and Losses is a team stat. The entire team matters, not just you.

Kills/Deaths only matters to Combat Wombats.

Keep your chin up Laz been having a whole heap of rubbish games where I seem to end up with a team made up of 1 uber guy 2-3 average and the rest new players per side and game win or loose depends on the 4 new players on each team

Elo just does not seem to be working

Edit

P.S is it a bad sign that on my day off with Wife and kids out of the house I am reading the forums rather than playing....

Are you having FUN when you play?

Visit this page, http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab# and then post your build. I'm sure players on the forums can give advice on it, perhaps that will help?

i was having immense fun playing but events in real life have taken a turn for the worse and i just donthave the urge to log in as much as i was before the bad stuff happend. also my game crashes at the end of every single match and locks up my pc so i have to ree boot , not really condusive to team gaming the constant droping , having to be re invited ect its not fair on the other team players . i am going to do a re install to see if it helps .

i dont think im having build troubble i get great advice from my clan mates it just seems that im getting rolled more now than before . mabbe the elo is off and matching me /us with significantly better players than me / us

To the :OP

Most of us are not experts at the game, except for the devs, but even they can be taken down by players that learned the game. Those guys with crazy K/D ratios, are usually running premade groups or most times a cheese build. I would question this, how many people on the previous contest used the Raven 3L with streaks to boost their way to the top? That is my question. The same goes with the other mech types as well.

For you, you just need to locate or build a mech that is just right for you. I have 4 builds that if other players pilot them don't get nearly as much damage done or kills as I do. I'm not the best mech pilot out there either. Can I make a Splat cat and get a K/D of 3/1, yes, will I? Nope. Played it, have more fun bouncing around as a spider. I also bob from Commando to Heavy at a moment's notice. Thus, on certain maps, my heavy build is not optimal. Thus, your k/d may drop and you may lose a few games. But as a previous poster stated, as long as you are having fun. That is what matters.

Honestly man.

I'm a decent pilot, might even be pretty good and on some days damn good.

I have 22 kills and 10 deaths in a Spider-D which should tell you something.

But I solo que a lot and it just kills my wins / losses not to mention my ELO.

I may personally account for myself well by solo'n a few battlemechs but all the skill in the world doesn't matter a wit when your going up against an organized opposition, or when your teammates charge in solo against 8 opponents and expect to kill something which is why I only have a 1.5 KDR

At a certain point it's just a numbers game and being outnumbered hardly ever ends well.

The trick is to insure you are not outnumbered.

1. Get into 4 mans, or even 2 mans so you can rely on at least one person and back each other up

2. In team chat, take charge. Suggest to people that you all go here and don't run off alone and then follow your own advice.

3. Call targets in team chat, example "Hit Golf, the Atlas!" things like that go along way.

4. Make friends, Give compliments where compliments are due. Someone nails you with a lucky shot from across the map. "nice shot" goes a long ways.

You've got to remember in any given drop there is 1 person who doesn't care about anything and is only interested in doing his own thing. 2 people who are trying out experimental builds and the mechs don't come close to performing, 3 people who are happy to be here and do whatever followed by the one guy that's GOTZ TO WIN.

Which just leaves you.

It is what it is and hopefully when CW fully gets implemented there will be more direction but for now just following the steps above to minimize and maximize your play.
Peace

Welcome to the Steering-wheel Underhive. :)

I am in very much the same position. Since Elo went in, I have actually improved (my WLR since the full stats went in is about 1 but overall since open beta is about 0.4) but I still go on long runs of losses.

I actually think it's a good thing. I'm not trying to protect a stat so if I think of a wacky build or an unusual tactic I'm happy to give it a try without worrying if it's going to cause me to drop a stat. Or if I want to try out a new mech or role or whatever, no problem.

If you're having fun, run with it.

I've been having massive stability issues with the game as well laz, for what its worth mate I think you are pretty decent. Don't let a string of bad games get you down **** happens to us all.
