If you give us the ability to drag a few mp3s into our MWO directory and blast our music of choice (AC/DC? Led Zeppelin?) through the speakers for our opponents to hear, I will purchase the Heavy Metal at the moment of its release.

Exactly, there could always be "mute" and "report" buttons. Tbh, not having those is a bad design to begin with.

sorry but i doubt a custom messgae would be acceptable,maybe in the future PGI can sell soundpacks, but custom sound would be impossible to filter for adult content.

PGI already does't filter for adult content - you can say whatever you want in the in-game chat windows. So that's nothing new. Again, give users the OPTION. More options = more freedom = better. Let us choose whether or not to turn off other people's sound.
