Getting tired of being team killed... I have to wonder what the motivation for some of these griefers is. Do they have a reason for their actions, or are they simply griefers out looking to ruin other people's games?

I think people are getting bored and need private servers of some sort so they can set up their own matches. This is something that should have happened a long time ago.

I might do that... would be nice to avoid getting team killed in the first place... do you have any experience with that yourself Canuck?

I have reacted towards other tk's. But I have a select group of friends I like to grievance with.

Would really be nice if we could have a lobby system though... I think this might discourage others to team kill because they could simply have their own private matches rather than having to play with random strangers and disrupt their gaming experience.

I agree. Within my clan I know we have a few members that like to take each other one on one to see who can perform better in that particular chassis. A private lobby would prevent members from dropping within a team and taking each other out. I think this should be priority.

What about cockpit decorations though? Do you think those are a more important priority than a lobby system being implimented?

Cockpit items are a high priority. But! I think some place we can set up battles without disrupting others would be key!

It's not always the guy firing who is at fault.

The amount of lights that I have seen running in to hug an enemy which is being bombarded by allied mechs...

I've wanted to kill many teammates. Most frustrating for me is being in a match where there is only 1 light mech, and that pilot won't capture any resources, so slower teammates must do it. OTOH, I try to express thanks to the light mechs who do spend their whole game running between resource captures instead of shooting enemies. It gets boring.

Maybe PGI will see "private matches" as a way to make money? If it was included as part of Premium Time, or you could arrange private matches if you buy some other daily, weekly, etc. service, perhaps some players would purchase it. Seems like a reasonable way to offset the R&D cost of implementing such a feature. Back in the day, if you wanted a Quake server, you had to buy one from a game hosting company. That's not true of MWO but I would not mind paying PGI for "private match" service.

The problem is that there is no way to have arranged matches or dueling. So what you'll see instead is 2 of your allies dropping into your match then killing each other. I know that arranged duels would be massively exploited for farming, but you could simply drop rewards out of arranged matches.

Wait... so you're saying cockpit items are NOT more important than a dedicated lobby and private matches?

You make a good point Bluten... how long do you think it will be before PGI puts a dedicated lobby system into the game so mechwarriors will be able to have arranged duels and private matches?

Well IDK about that. I really do like the Christmas lights in my cockpit. But who knows I am only one person within the community. So really I just spend money on the game and my opinion means nothing, just like everyone else on this forum.

Now now Canuck... I'm sure PGI reads all these threads and has a solid grasp on the pulse of the MWO community. This is why we will never have to have a subscription or any sort of premium time to participate in community warfare right?

I heard CW would be free for the masses, yet would only cost the merc corp a team pay option in which all the members could contribute to get their unit going. I think that is what PGI has in mind. I have talked to devs personaly.

Good call. This post will add nothing to further the discussion, it is simply meant to bump the thread and give it more views. Carry on with your lively and educational discussion.

The ability to host private lobbies would give premium time some real value.
