Because there has been a consistent pattern where the thing that is most cried about didn't need nerfing, or received far more nerfing than it deserved.

What's worse, the process of overnerfing draws resources away from longstanding issues that really should be focused on more.

Part of the problem is that people are whining about symptoms of a problem, not the problem itself. Thus, the symptoms are treated while the underlying cause remains.

Can this be automated? I love hard data. Make a program to search for certain keywords and generate some graph outputs.

"Looks like QQing is up this week for 'cap wins,' 'Stalkers,' and 'autocannon macros.'"

Unfortunately, there is a fatal flaw with that idea: a significant portion of whiners are unable to spell the subject of their own rant.

You'd need actual eyes to read the rants and render it into data. To determine which topics have the most heat at any given time. Then you'd have to graph it.

I'd accept the job for a nominal fee, to be paid in MC.
