All of the information posted thus far following the, accurate or not, interview from Russ ******* has not addressed the key issue which caused the explosion of condemnation from the community, nor has the 'new and better' thread packed with trollish criticism of those who expressed their very real concerns.

That said it can me made simple:

Q: How will you, the publisher, monetize Community Warfare?

Please no "be patient" or "that's already been addressed" as the community has been patient for months and the definitve question of Community Warfare monetization has not been addressed substantivly.

If all that can be posted is a few dot points on directions you are considering and concepts being mooted then that will at least offer an insight into the process and may get more constructive feedback then has been available thus far.

There are endless options available:

- 'Security Contract: Mercs drop as a 4 man premade with another House Unit 4 man premade against a group a 12 Lone Wolf 'Pirates or Rebals'(PUGs) and try to hold them off(integrated community warfare)

- Theatre of War: multiple Merc Corps are engaged by rival houses in a month long campaign containing constant battles to take control of just one Planet or City(because it's got lots of nickel deposits... or whatever... doesn't have to be Terra) and control of said planet then goes to the House that hired the winners(mercs can take a few points and switch teams... que angry, emotionally invested metagame).

- Rapid Response Deployment: 12 man House Unit is drops expecting a semi-pug interhouse battle and finds themselves facing off against an 8 man Merc Unit(we assume on voice coms with planning). Fight for the glory because you know you want it.

- Viva le Revolution: Lone Wolves opt into a campaign to declare independence and fight a series of escalating battles against House Units for control of a planet/continent/region(friendships form, the PUGS join friends lists, maybe they all join a faction, maybe they go Merc after they capture a space port or maybe they drift away and the uprising is put down... in any case they become more engaged).

All of the above can be done with a few post match screens, a few matchmaker tweaks and a little bit of box ticking. And that's just my meagre brain; data mine your community!

REALLY? REALLY? Months? From an interview released Friday?

Just quit. And never return. Please, I'm begging you. For everyone who can critically think, just leave. Be like Simba, except never learn that Mufasa wasn't killed by you and return when you realize how awesome CW will be.

I think the implementation of the Clans is still going to be something the Devs will be working on until midsummer, and the warfare between them will mirror the wars between the Inner Sphere powers. Certainly, we won't get any answers about how combat between various Clans will differ from combat between Inner Sphere factions for some time.

Most likely, the devs will have the Clans as a semi-unified enemy to face off against Inner Sphere pilots, only inserting inter-Clan fighting when they become player-run. Of course, it's anyone's guess, since the Clans are probably several months to a year away from release.

Also, since the Clans don't use Inner Sphere monetary units, economy of inter-Clan economics will probably use some other form of currency, like Resource Credits, or such.
