The moment this patch is downloaded, I'm going digging in the game file and looking for the music that Heavy Metal plays. Not that I don't want to hear it, I want to be able to manipulate what it plays. And if it's modable, doing so.

Depends. Does the player only hear the music or is it public? If private then knock your socks off. Public and PGI would be breaking the ESRB left and right as soon as some skinhead starts playing hate music.

Not sure. It just says that it plays music on its external speakers when you get a kill.... could be either really. Make sure to turn your music option on in game (I think it's off by default) and we'll find out soon.

It should remain against the rules to modify the game files. To avoid any issues as lockwoodx mentions.

That said, perhaps the MWO community could gently twist the developers arm (ie. persuade them) to include extra music and the owner of the mech gets to choose which one plays. A community contest perhaps?

But we mod game files all the time. I mod my view distance and cockpit view (how far back the view is) and I know there's a lot more little tweaks that people do. There's a thread on this very forum on how to do it.

But as Lockwoodx says, I very much agree, we musn't have hatefull clips.... Just funny and/or awesome ones =D

Must be public, otherwise there isn't any appeal to it.
But it probably points to a file inside the PAK, which you could change with zero effect in other people games.

This is probably the most important issue in this game, and it needs to be dealt with immediately. The future of this game, indeed of PGI as a whole, depends entirely on this issue being resolved as fast as possible. I'm really glad you started this thread, because we need to bring this to developer's attention immediately. Great job.
