So I browsed through a bit and did not see this mentioned.

Rhonda Snord is a FREEBIRTH she was born in clan space.

I am providing a sourcebook page of her from 1623 Rhonda's Irregulars

As for Heavy Metal itself it seems like it will be a great mech to get out the door.
Also for those that did not know while knockdown collisions may not be in game DFAs are as collision damage is still present. Don't believe grab a buddy hop on a 3d and land on them. Also its kinda funny but you can still ride on other mechs this way but both will take damage. Just did this last week as a test.

You actually needed to create a thread about info most of us already know and those who don't don't even bother with?

Dude I always thought the Snords were Scorpions! They have the Seeker mind set! Well at least they are Clanners.

It's the Battletech world immersion I love that is so seriously lacking in this simulation.....

Well some people do not have access to all the source books and a lot of people do not have a collection like I do. So I feel like helping out and providing definite proof, where as Sarna and SolarisVII can have some wrong information or it is heavily edited.

So while some people may know from hopping onto Sarna and what not they may not get a full picture.

I have always liked the Irregulars, they are my kind of people. Eccentric but with a method to the madness. Not sure i will get the H-M... Never been that big on stuff above mediums.

But who can resist the "rogue with a heart of gold"

I didn't have the money when I was a kid and my FLGS closed 5 years ago. I was there on the last day and took pictures with my friends and the owner. Sad times...

I might pick up some ancient now PDF books from DriveThruRPG. $20 gives me what I want for now.

I would be just happy to see new players pick up on the lore in the first place!!! There have been a "dont care about the lore" in this forum that has made me facepalm so many times my heart sank. Battletech is as rich as Star wars or Star trek and most new guys just "wanna stomp ma robot and sho ma bling" and then i have questions like "whats a davion???" asked of me........................................................

If you're a new guy DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK ABOUT THE LORE! You want to earn the respect of the old school and be a community in the real sense? Ask us about the lore, you'll see that were more aprochable then you think and friendlier, we just got a thing againt's perpetuating ignorance which is easily overlooked when youngsters show interest in actually knowing.

We quickly revert to the old Ben Kenobi ways of a friendly teacher, heck we werent born knowing it all, someone taught it to us too... B)

While im not a lorebuff by any means i think its really sad that PGI failed to enrich their game with any sort of fluff. Descriptions off chassi would be a good start for new people. Theres nothing in this game besides the mechs that would make it feel like a battletech/mechwarrior game and give some background to the drops.

Every mechwarrior game ever done that i have played was better at this :P

Its PGI's doing, they want this singular type championships instead of actually showing the new players what is the factions for Community Warfare and what are the diference between them so that they can choose and join units that actually appeal to them. But no. For some members of PGI that pride themselfs of being long time Battletech fans they show very little respect for the lore and its shown in the new players. When i started BT it was on MW4 and i spent HOURS just listening to little details from the lore from older guys, it was THAT amazing the stories, i almost went clanner because if it.

I think that would be a dangerous area. Imagine being able to be a 0/1 pilot from an expanded pilot tree. All the whining on the forums because a light didn't get knocked down by an Atlas (once that is back in) and then the LRM100 hitting with every single missile. Yeah bad idea I think.

Oh and if you guys didn't catch it this is the first Clan Mech which happens to be a Hero Mech.

Ignore this turdhat.

Who is "most of us?" At any given time, a majority of viewers of these forums are unregistered Guests.

I would probably not have seen had he not posted it here, and now I can do further reading. Don't be such a downer.

Thanks for the post!

Heh, and passed off as salvage from a raid on the ComGuards as a kicker like many of the rest of the Irregulars Star League era 'Mechs.

I remember when PGI posted back stories for their made up Mechs. But they haven't lately (the X-5?), and they don't point people in the direction of Battle Tech read outs. Not many new players will ever know where the Death Knell and Pretty Baby came from, who Rhonda is, or what the pilot story is for Yen Lo Wang. Instead, we the players have to show where it comes from, if people are actually interested in knowing.

Yeah I loved that. Also the duping of the deeded land for the SL facility.

I did a make up of the pretty baby history on one of the more popular threads when it was announced.
